Why does my ford taurus idle high code P1506

The code is for the idle air control valve which controls idle speed.
The problem could be a faulty control valve, or a vac leak which is letting in air to the intake and bypassing the control valve.

I am looking for a diagram of where the oxygen sensor is

Some models have two sensors, one before the catalyst and one after. This is done for a catalyst efficiency monitor that is a part of the OBD-II engine controls. The one before the catalyst measures the exhaust emissions right out of the engine, and sends the signal to the PCM about the state of the mixture as previously talked about. The second sensor reports the difference in the emissions after the exhaust gases have gone through the catalyst. This sensor reports to the PCM the amount of emissions reduction the catalyst is performing.

Need to replace timing chain

How do I remove the front pulley assembly from the crankshaft extension on the front of a 24 valve OHC Ford Taurus engine.\r\nThe pulley has an integral bearing and nut assembly along with the mounting bracket which I have loose. It will not clear the extension shaft on the front of the crankshaft. The face of the pulley is against the fender wall.

Where is the thermostat located at, on a 3.0 v6 ,1996 ford taurus

The thermostat is located on the drivers side of the motor underneath a large wiring harness and is difficult to see. try following the top radiator hose backwards. Hope this helps....not too hard to change either.
DEPENDS. If it is the 24 valve OHC engine, the thermostat is on the passenger side, front, bottom of the engine. It's a little hard to get to but just two bolts.
