That's because he likely cut the power wire to these when he was looking for power sources for his stereo.
GM almost always has at least one empty spot on the fuse panel that will provide a power source for aftermarket equipment such as stereos. He'll have to put an in-line fuse in it. It should be marked ACC. If not a test light will easily show him where he can draw power from the fuse box. Hope this helps.

Look in your owners manual. But remember, blown fuses cut power. WIth a few exceptions related to lighting mostly, things that are acting strange or doing crazy stuff dont have blown fuses. They go DEAD when they have blown fuses. If they are acting strange, something is causing them to believe they need to, or a major compnent of they system is no longer correct (like say a ground connection, or a signal wire rubbing ground partially).

WHen chasing sudden crazies...1st place to look are the last 2 places you touched or moved or even reached past anything electrical. 98% of the time that is where it came from. If that fails, then you need to state exactly what is going wrong and when...what was done/what did you touch when you were trying to fix...and start troubleshooting circuits one at a time. Start with where youve been, see if that works. If not, then make a new reply.

02Ford Taurus windows windshield wipers locks wont work

Sounds like the wire you used for power was oon the circut for all those other things, or if you pulled the fuse box down to hook radio up through the fuse box, you may have grounded out some wires, or knocked them loose. Use a test light or voltmeter and make sure you have power at the fuse box for wiper, dashlight, trunk release, door lock fuses.

When battery is connected fuel door and trunk open

well for starters there is many factors at play here. 1. battery chargers need to be on and battery disconnected. make sure if it has a timer it did not run out and (the charger may also have an internal fues/ relay ) if it gets too hot it shut off. Was the charger on a high enough setting to compenstate for the drain and is your battery good enough to be charged even. constantly drained batteries will actully not hold a charge after awhile. most parts or even walmart can check batteries free>
The trunk lights and fuel door on the same fuse? otherwise I would say the trunk has a bad switch that is not making contact or is making poor contact and acting as the trunk is open. it may just be pinched wires that rubbed together make contact with your cars steel body. They may be seen in the trunk follow the wires from the release switch and see if it connects anyplace near the fuel door. I am sure it will.

I have a 2000 cadillac catera my radio, maplight, high beam light, heated seats, and onstar does not work when I start the engine. when I turn it off they work until I open the door. PLEASE HELP

Did you recently have a loss of power to the car? change the battery? if so, you need to reset your system. My husband and I just figured this out this weekend. His sunroof hasn't worked in two years and it turns out you have to reset all the power options in the car. Google 2000 cadillac catera %calibrate ETC% loss of power, you'll find the step by step instructions for recalibrating the car's computer and resetting the power options

Fuel door and truck release fuse

I had the same problem last fall and had my mechanic check all fuses, he could not find the problem. Later my son was in the glove box and then I remembered the valet button disables the trunk and gas door so the person parking your car cannot snoop in your trunk or get to your gas cap. push the valet button in the glove box and see if you can release the trunk and gas door. Hope this works for you, it can be a pain opening the trunk every time you want to put gas in the car....good luck...........
