Question about 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD 2WD

I have a 2006 chevy 2500 hd 6.0 gas only has 21K miles.\r\n Recently it has developed this clacking noise. Audible and loud at idle seems to get better above 1500 RPM. Sometimes it is not present at all. Drive me insane. Performance not affected. This just sarted in the last 500 miles. I doubt it is the oil..I use synthetic. I drive the truck lightly..so I do not think I broke it. It did kick down to a too low of a gear will going up a hill in cruise control.. still this should not have done bet anything. seems like pasenger side lower level.. when pressing on the gas it goes away and releasing the gas it come back so like a negative or positive pressure.. any way it is making me crazy.. HELP!

SOURCE: Runs rough at low rpms. Misfires but goes away at about 2000 rpm.

Sounds to me like it could be a Mass Airflow Sensor issue. Or Air fuel mixture problem. Is the harness to the MAF and Trottle control sensors hooked up right? These are just simple solutions that may work. Check all of your fuses as well. One could be blown causeing you DLC not to operate. DLC =DATA LINK CONNECTOR. Find the fuse... read the code.... solve them problem! GOOD LUCK! hope this helps.

There is a recall for valve problems. The warranty for this problem has been extended to 100,000 miles for that. Check with your dealer to see if that is the problem. If no help contact GM.

This is going to sound crazy but i had the same problem with my 2003 silverado, changed the plugs, battery, and alternator with no sucess at all. Finally took my truck to a well respected auto repair shop locally in my area and they suggested i change the fuel filter under the truck. Crazy right? Why not, so i did and my truck ran perfect after i changed it. Shop tech said my truck was starving for fuel which in turn was not letting the alternator spin above the correct RPMs at all times which in turn caused the electrical computer system to not operate correctly. If you tried everything might as well try the fuel filter before you have to spend big bucks at the repair shop. Hope this helps.

One thing is to leave the IAC adjustment alone, you have a vachum leake betweent the mais air flow sensor or a intake leak.

Just change the compressor it is easier than changing the clutch if you do dont forget to change the reciever dryer and the orfice tube and have a evacuation done on it.

2000 Chrysler 300M V6 with 150k miles started giving a clacking noise from the engine area after getting an oil change from Jiffy Lube. I was less than 2 miles from their shop when it started clackin


Sounds like your valve lifters. It's possible that they drained the oil and never refilled it. This does happen when they go on break or lunch half way through a job. They think they added the oil, but did not. Out you go, Mr. Clack-Clack.

the braking system is not installed a the factory just the wire from the plug to the fire wall you need to add the fuse and control box

2006 chevy 2500 express cargo van .What is a good oil pressure for this van. it has 150,000 miles runs great


60psi cold / 30-45psi warm is ideal. I've seen (with that mileage) 45 cold/ 20 warm and that's acceptable - anything less start thinking about a new oil pump.

Hi, I have a 2006 Altima with 31,500 miles. Recently, the engine start shaking when car is Idle but I still feel the shake when driving or at red lights. My second problem is a weird loud (humming) noise...


You don't need to change the spark plugs since it has only 31.5 K. The plugs should last 60K. There is a an adjustment at the gas cable end at engine to increase the idle a little bit. You can increase rpm at idle to 600 RPM. Since your RPM at idle is low that why it is shaking at idle, red lights. Let me know it it is shaking at high speed ( 2500 RPM)

same thing, get a used engine, ill sell u mine with 135K miles..
first it was my transmission at 87K, the whining came at 60K miles, but it costs 2K to install, just dump it or bring back for trade in, those dicks..

1997 ford expo makes loud clasking noise


If it was your cranshaft making that kind of noise.your motor would have frozen up already.it seems more like a tranny problem than an engine problem. Take it to a good mechanic. It sounds like your tranny is about to go.
