I have a99 chevy sunurban with a 4L60-E transmission i lost all gears, had the trans febuilt, i installed the rebuilt trans with a new torq converter and i still have no gears, what could possibly be wrong

Make sure you engage the convertor all the way into the trans-three stages while pushing in and turning, or else the ears on the conv won't engage the oil pump. Also check your flexplate for cracks around the bolt holes while you have the trans out,it won't disable your trans unless the flexplate cracks completely. Of course, check fluid level and make sure you don't have a trans cooler leak in the radiator. Good luck.

My car has a worn out engine rear seal how can I replace it?

This is a fun one. You can do this 2 different ways. One of which, remove the transmission and flexplate (automatic trans.) or flywheel (manual trans.) and you can loosen the rear main cap and pull the old rear main seal out and install the new one. The other way of replacing it is removing the engine and replacing the seal on an engine stand. Either way, it'll take some time to do.

How to to install a manual trans in an automatic 92 corolla

Sometimes the pinion gear is a different size for the automatic and smaller for the manual, make sure you get this right or it will chatter your teeth out. You also need to find a car like yours with a manual trans so you can pull all these parts out, shifter, clutch pedal, a hydraulic master and slave, your speedo probably won't work, or fit, maybe. Your propeller shaft might not be the same length, but you can get that from the donor car. I would find another auto to put in there, it would be easier. Hope this helps.

Yes the trans can wipe out the crank bearings or the spacer behind the crank(forget what its called) it can let the flexplate move and the bolts can hit. That may be what your hearing. Does it still have good oil pressure?

Where is the crankshaft position sensor is located

Year, engine size, and transmission type wasn't stated,so my reply may not cover a generic answer. On all of the Sebrings i have personally repaired, the models that had automatic transmissions ALL had the crankshaft position sensor mounted into the transmission bellhousing with a 10 mm bolt.It is located on the driver side of the vehicle, exactly where the trans bolts to the engine block. If you are standing at the rear of the engine,on the driver side fender facing the engine bay,the sensor is located at about 2 o'clock if the rear of the engine were a clock. There is also a VERY important adjustment procedure in relation to the depth of the sensor in the hole it is mounted in.It is adjustable up and down in relation to the flexplate, and should have an air gap of approximately .030".Too close to the flexplate, the sensor will hit the flexplate and destroy the sensor, too far away and the sensor will not read and the engine won't run.
