There are 2 small black posts that stick up from the flat trim slightly behind and above the headlights simply unscrew them while lifting the rods up & out this lets the whole headlight come out, then you simply un-clip the plug & put in the new bulb.

Thank you for using fixya and good luck

How do I change the inside headlamps on my 1998 Suburban?

It depends, if you have sealed beam headlamps, there should be a frame around headlamp, remove it.
If composite headlamps, there are two hex headed pins in top radiator support, remove those pins. Take out lamp assembly so you can get at bulbs.Don't touch new bulbs with bare hands.

If it does the get a test light and check the circuit inside the brake light. it can be the circuit board or the pig tail the not getting connection.

My left tail light and turn light not working on 1998 gmc suburban. Bulb is fine.

Sounds like you have a bad tail light circuit board.

unplug the connector and use a test light to confirm there is power to the circuit board for the lights that do not work. If there is power replace the circuit board. They are usually in stock at your local parts store.
