Question about 2002 Ford Taurus

1 Answer

Hi I have a ford mondeo mk3 tdci... It ll run fine until I give it any more than half throttle when the management light comes on and it goes into limp mode. If i stop the engine and re-start it runs fine again. I ve had it plugged into three diagnostic machines but they all report different faults from temperature sender to some vacuum valve somewhere. Please could anyone help ?????? has anyone had similar problems??? Thanks kevin.

I would go with the vacuum sensor because vacuum changes when giving it more pedal. Temperature should not vary immediately .

SOURCE: mondeo tdci

hi there, you will need a diagnostic check carried out to locate the exact fault, most garages have the equipment to carry out these checks so you won't need to visit your ford agent, a common fault on the engines is the camshaft sensor these cost around £20 and are very easy to replace, however once you have it tested you will now your exact fault, hope this helps

Common fault on FORD
Usually due to a poor connection in the YELLOW PLASTIC CONNECTOR underneath the passenger seat.

Just push it together properly and it should clear the AirBag fault

Why is there no pulse at injectors on a 05 mondeo tdci

No pulse? Is the engine running? How are you measureing pulse? If the engine is running there is a pulse, if it's not running, there won't be a pulse. If TDCI is correct this is a turbodiesel
Compression Ignition.

Ford mondeo faults

the flashing orange light is the glowplug light that telling you there is a engine managment problem. you need to get the fault code out of the engine control module with a obd code reader to determine the cause but the common cause of the flashing glow plug warning is a air leak after the turbo charger

Mondeo Mk3 TDCI suspected fuel contamination

indicates that the fuel was petrol and not diesel
best id to drain the tank , change the fuel filters and refill with the correct fuel
could be contaminated tank at the station but as most have a petrol and diesel hoses side by side it is easy to fill from the wrong hose
