How do I adjust the headlights on a 2004 Taurus?

First has this vehicle ever been wrecked, or have the headlights been
replaced previously? If not the headlights should be fine... But if there is
reason to believe they are off, here is what you do...

Find a building with level ground for atleast 25ft away. Measure from the
center of your headlight to the ground. Then make a line on the wall the
same distance from the ground to center of the headlight.

Turn your headlights on. Watch for the bottom of the brightest part of the
beam to line up with the line you made on the wall. If both sides are not
identical in height, turn the upper octagon shaped stud till they are even
with the line.

If they are not in line with the vehicle, turn the lower stud till they are
straight ahead of or slightly off to the right of the center of the
vehicle... You can use a laser level for this. Just put the level in the
middle of the headlight and turn it on.. Level it up, and shoot the beam,
see where the lights are at..

Or you can take it to your local Ford dealer and they can hook up their
headlight aiming system and charge you a small fortune, but the lights will
be where they are supposed to be
