See how many amps your cooling fan is pulling when your battery light comes on.If it is pulling more than 40 amps it is 10 amps shy from shutting down the alternator .at idle with ac on defrost lights and radio and in some cases will fry the alt rectifier.ford has written a tsb on this issue but will not let the public know about this issue.
