I am attempting to replace the control arms on my old beauty (1991 BMW 525i). The problem is that I cannot get the ball joint bolt separated from the steering arm. It seem to be as tight as a weld.
I have driven three different size pickle forks comptetely in, and the bolt never moved at all.
I attempted to apply heat, but am afraid of the heat damaging the rubber of another ball joint that is attached to the crossmember.
you need ither a special tool found on ebay(20 bucks)
or hit the part where the ball joint connects to the leg with a good size hammer just kind of gentle nothing crazy it should take care of the problem.

Try the old-school method. Get two big sledge hammers and pop the steering arm on opposite sides of the ball joint stud. This will cause a momentary pinch and a shock wave that is excellent for rusted studs. It will take a few good whallops. Not for the inaccurate among us. Colin

Get a good quality pivoted ball joint remover. The pivoted lever gives about three times the force the screw alone provides, and applies a far greater force than any other manual type. I've never had a ball joint that one of these won't split.

My car has a Bury UNI system 8 fitted and I've I've just bought a new Uni take and talk cradle for my Nokia 6300 and problem is I can hear dial and ringing tones and the other person very clearly but it seems if my microphone doesn't work as they can not hear me. Also the phone button on my steering wheel doesn't seem to activate the phone in either answer or dial mode or interrupt radio.
