Question about 2007 Mazda CX-9

2 Answers

When I first drive my 2010 CX9 in the morning there is a loud constant squeaking coming from under the driverside. It does it for about 5-10 minutes then stops and is only occasional after it is warmed up. It sounds like brakes squeaking and goes squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak! I took it to the dealer and they said it was the drive shaft and replaced it yesterday but today it is as bad as ever when I took it out! Now he says he has to call technical assistance and I will have to drive allllll the way down the mountain AGAIN and spend a fortune in gas to MAYBE get this fixed. :( Help please.

My 2010 Mazda CX9 started squeaking when it is cold. It sounds like it is coming from the rear driverside wheel, but when the service people at Mazda had it on the lift, they said it was not the wheel, but the driveshaft. They replaced the driveshaft yesterday, but this morning when I took it around the block when cold, it is just as bad as ever. It sounds like a brake squeak in time with the wheel turning and accelerates and decelerates with speed. I just had the cars tires rotated and a complete oil change and lube 2wks ago and that made no difference. What else could this be?

Check the serpentine/alternator belt.If its overstretched or worn out it will make such noise.Other possibility can be loose wheel bearing or rusted wheel bearing causing this. Check the wheel bearing too.check the U joints in thedrive shaft ..Another thing that can sound like squeaking brake pads is a bad drive shaft pillow block bearing. Basically, this is a bearing loaded into a rubberized housing that holds your drive shaft onto the car chassis. This will only make noise while the vehicle is in motion, never while parked. And yours is doing bit same. The drive shaft is replaced but check the u-joints and bearing of drive-shaft.it can also be possible.A rubber seal making noise on the rear drive shaft. Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation

It would have so goos if you were to confirm this in the first instant by observing the sound with a first hand inspection. Since you noticed it was the driver side underside, The car should have been jacked up on one side and rolled over to check for th noise. If the sound was evident, whether drive bearing assembly, hub, brake pads, calipers or bad suspension then the fault could be centred.
But is not evident then you could have jacked up the total front both sides and started you car to simulate the drive.
Now it could be confimed iff the noise came from the drive or within.
This must confirm before you change any part which is costly.

The engine in my automatic '91 Integra intermittently makes a loud squeaking noise...it sounds to be coming from the left side of the car under the hood. It is not the fan/fan belt, as the noise...

are you sure its not your fan belts? because if fan belts are not turning, it means that the engine is off. check if the tension in your fan belts are still ok. if not, have it re tensioned. if noise is still present, have it changed.

Loud squeak when engine is on.

Is it a squeak or a howell thats the real question here because it could be the oil trap which is about $140 and is attached to the bottom of the filter housing not to hard to do if you have worked on this type of car befor. And has the car died yet.
