I have dexcool pooring from the bottom of my 2005 pontiac grand prixs a/c compressor? does the A/C compressor have rad fluid in it?

The dexcool isn't coming from the A/C compressor ! More then likely coming from the engine . No the A/C compressor doesn't have coolant in it , has refrigerant ! Sounds to me like your engine has a problem ! Your best bet would be to take it to a qualified repair shop !

Why does my 2005 impala leak dexcool like crazy, which throws my heat off.

There are several areas that these cars have issues with coolant leaks first off is this car leaving a puddle of coolant on the ground?

If not check the oil and make sure after it's been run awhile that the oil doesn't resemble chocolate milk if it does then the coolant is leaking internally and could cause sever internal engine damage if not addressed promtly. The engine damage occours due to pitting and rusting in the lifters rod/main and cam bearings, oil and water don't mix. Check the oil after the engine has been run a while since if the car sit's the oil and water will separate and the oil may look ok other then being overfull slightly.

Another area that is comon for leaks is the overflow tank if this type has the pressure cap on the tank I have had several bad tanks like this.

The water pump may be leaking out the weep hole located behind the pulley and should be checked with a pressure tester, light and a mirror.

But probably the most comon leak of all is the intake gasket leaking out both one or both ends. Dex-cool adds to the likely hood of these gaskets being the problem since it is citrus based and has had huge classaction lawsuits against GM in the past. Since this car is no longer under warranty the best advice I can give you is to flush out the dex-cool and replace with a good quality 150,000 mile 5 year green like Peak antifreeze or equivalant. But first find the laeak and have it repaired.

Do you have any dex in your oil? Have u checked all lines from resevoir rubber and metal? Check ****** lines coming from radiator? Is there dex in your ****** fluid? It's gotta be going some where. Some leaks may not show unless you throttle the engine up. Be careful working around belts and fans when engine is running.

It's either leaking or burning the dexcool due to a bad gasket. Check your oil to make sure the coolant isn't leaking into the oil. If it is STOP driving it and have it towed to a shop. Coolant in your oil can destroy your engine.

I have a 2005 Malibu Maxx and I have a low coolant level. I hear a lot about the Dexcool class action lawsuit, so this sounds widespread. How do I start trouble shooting where the leak is comming from...

There isn't a problem with Dexcool if it's not contaminated by other products. [ that's why the suit hasn't gotten anywhere ]. The car is now at least 7 years old, there could be several area's leaking. One that's commom is the intake manifold gaskets. You do need to have it tested to find the leak. sorry.

Reddish liquid leaking from under front right axle. coolant light on and off

Your vehicle uses GM Dex-Cool from the factory which is a coolant that is red in color. You more than likely have a leak so the system is low and therefore the coolant light is acting up.

There are several Technical Service Bulletins on this year Saturn for intake manifold gasket leaks for one, but it could be from a lot of places.

Washing the engine and letting it dry, then running it the next day and hunting around with a flashlight may help pinpoint the problem area. Check hose clamp areas of course.

For difficult leaks they make a Dex-Cool compatible UV Dye that can be seen with a UV light at a repair shop.

best wishes!

A symbol with an arrow pointing down at a low water level it looks like came on in my car a couple days ago and I don't have a clue as to what it is...I own a L200 saturn 2003

Its a warning light to let you know that your coolant level is low. When the engine is cold remove the reservoir cap. If the coolant is red add a mixture of 50/50 dexcool and water. If the coolant is green add a 50/50 mix of regular coolant and water. If you cannot tell what color it is add a 50/50 mix of all make/models coolant and water.

Fill until the level reaches the full mark on the bottle.

Sometimes it will take the light a little while to go out and sometimes you literally have to whack the reservoir a couple of times with a rubber mallet to get it to turn off.

If it goes low again in a fairly short period of time than you most likely have a leak in the cooling system.

Is the 'low coolant' light a danger?

It is only a danger if you run critically low as you run the risk of overheating your engine which can cause you a myriad of problems.

Take a couple minutes and stop by an anuto parts store, pick up a gallon and add it with water to the coolant reservoir.

I always say better safe than sorry.

Kee p an eye on the reservoir. If it starts to go down, you've got a coolant leak you should take care of.

Leaking master cylinder on 1989 maxima. Can I replace myself? Or do I take it to a shop? Leaking at the join between the reservoir assembly and the master cylinder. Its a fairly significant leak as I...

It could be the reservoir has a small split in it, or it could just be the gasket between the two parts, the thing is if you take it apart you may have to bleed the system again

Low Coolant Light

Why is it low? Leaking? The dumbest thing they sell is a 50/50 mix of antifreeze. You are getting 50% water and 50% coolant. Just buy a 100% antifreeze jug add it first and top it off with water. If the water is not low you may hve a bad coolant level sensor. It snaps into the radiator tank and is easy to replace when cold.
