Hi, there is a test for checking: the fan: the stat normally in the radiator and has 2 connections (temperature switch) if this is bridged (with the ignition ON but don't start the engine). ( this test checks the fuse, relay, fan motor, wiring system ), if the fan runs it is the radiator stat. if the fan do't run then it may be the fuse, relay, wiring system. try replacing the fuse, relay. if you turn over the fuse cover will show where the fuse is and relay. the fuse box may be in the engine bay / right hand side of drivers steering wheel. if you can let me know. gerry

My suzuki swifts fan comes on even when cold the car suddenly revs to 1000 from 800rpm. I can shut her off and it revs normally for 2 mins then the fan kicks in and the revs go up any suggestion plz

A sticking cooling fan relay ! What year is your swift ? The ECT - engine coolant temp. sensor is an input to the PCM - engine computer ,when the engine temperature reaches 213 degrees ,there about ,the PCM will supply a ground to energize the relay turning on the cooling fan . Also when this happens the PCM will raise the idle RPM to compensate for the load on the engine . Do you know what a relay is ? It is probably located in the under hood fuse / relay box . It will give you a diagram in your owners manual >

Air cond. fan not blowing already checked most fuses

your fan doesent run off your fuse. It runs off the fan relay switch. So check that, its located on the fan itself.

Aircon on a 2003 vw passat 1.9 tdi

having driving mine for a yr now, noticed some pulleys without a belt but never thought much about it. Thought aircon just needed service till the belt for alternater, fan, power steering snapped, the mechanic told me then that the other missing one was for aircon. Two belts plus cam belt????? driving too many things ! so just check to see if all belts are still there, they snap easily `cause of the multi purposes....
