That is normall for a car left standing, you should always start a car at least once a fortnight and run it till hot.try putting redexe in the tank, full can to 1/2 tank gas, then drive it for about 30 is best to fill a tank with gas if storing it(less air to contaminate it...)new cars in compounds awaiting sale are started weekly and rolled forwards 1/4 turn of stop flat spot on tyres...

I have 1986 porsche 944 it start and shuts of what could be the problem.

I hate to say it, but, if it starts cleanly and quickly on all cylinders its likely to be a switch/sensor/ thermoswitch etc.
Does it run cleanly?
Are the fluid levels correct?
The fuel injection has a cold start system but the ECU needs information from intake manifold, water temp and incoming air flow to maintain its running.
Get on the web and go to Porche owners forums or find your nearest (Bosch?) agent to help.
Wikepedia says there are 3 engines and they use Bosch Motronic systems. See what yours has and search for diagrams/handbooks etc on the web/ebay. There's piles of stuff out there for Bosch systems.

Wont Start

Your alternator should put plenty of voltage out at an idle, you might take it out and have it checked.
Most local parts houses have the equipment to check them without charging you.
If the alt is not working your car will run until the battery goes dead and alot of cars wont run without a charged battery and alternator not working.
You might also have a problem with the voltage regulator, or I should say that that is where your problem may lay.
Good luck
