Problem with Dodge 2000 Grand Caravan

2000 dodge grand caravan power window problem(s)

A couple of years ago my wife's van's right rear window had problems opening and closing. The problem seemed to be with the switch on the driver's side door. Then, the driver's side window would work intermitently (now less so than ever) and the left rear window has problems responding to the switch. Last year I took the panel off the driver's side door trying to figure out the prob with the door window. The motor gets pretty warm when you work the switch. Where should I start replacing parts? Or is there some trick I don't know about? Thanks, chuck

    • I have a 2001 Grand Caravan, I have been having problems with the power window, sometime they work sometimes not. I think it's just a problem with the wiring to the drivers side switch or the switch itself. How can I get the switch out to check for bad connection or corrosion without removing the whole door panel? Can I just try to pry it out from the door panel?

    • My problem is completely with the power vent window on the passenger side, my other windows work fine.

    • Does anyone know what this problem is and if it can be fixed without replacing the motor? Only one of mine stopped working a couple of days ago after working with no problem. I have a 98 Grand Caravan.
      Thanks.

    • The drivers window will not roll up now. Initially it would make a squealing/buzzing type noise when the switch was pushed down, then after a couple of attempts it would roll down. Tested switch, seems ok. Took off door panel. Does the motor need to be replaced? Thanks for any help. Rick

    • Hi

For me it is 2098 caravan rear window/vent not working at all.

      1) How do I get at it safely (without breaking everything)? I presume that I have to pry off plastic panels, but I don't know which angles that they would come off at.

      2) How can I separate the linkage from the motor?

      3) & Most important: What happens if I get it to open & I can't close it using the motor?

      Thanks

    • The passenger side window does not open nor close. When I press down the power window switch, there is no sound or movement from the door/window. Is it the motor? fuse? wiring? etc.? What should I do? How can I diagnose this problem?

      I appreciate any adivce.

I had this problem on my 2001 grand caravan. Eventually the window stopped working. I took it to the dealer and it needed a new fuse. I haven't had a problem since.

Passenger window on my 99 Grand Caravan quit working completely. I pulled off the door panel and checked voltage from the swith and it was good. I unscrewed the two phillips holding on the case of the motor and discovered that the motor brushes were completely worn down. I need to buy some new motor brushes and get them replaced.
Does anyone know where to find these brushes? Back vent windows don't work either but haven't gotten around to checking these yet.

This is confusing. Are you referring to the passenger/driver window or the
vent windows in the rear? If the window in the drivers and passenger door
have battery voltage and wont work or goes up and down slow you will have
to replace the regulator assemblies with the latest updated part to fix the
problem.

Hi Glenn

I have a 2000 Grand Caravan and the rear windows most of the time do
not open. I am thinking the electric motor is bad.
Does dodge have an on-line store to buy these parts? or where lese on
the web could I find them?

Thanks
Michael

...

Why not just get them from a dealer in your area? or get the part number and
see if you can locate them on E bay.
