Question about 2002 Honda Civic
If the alternator voltage is above 12.6 volts, then the problem could be a bad cell in the battery.
Each cell can be measured, but it's a dangerous test to do.
Best is to take the battery to a battery shop like sears or Autozone. They usually will check it for free.

Assuming you are driving at least 20 miles at highway speeds then its time to test the charging system
you need a DVOM to monitor the alternator output while holding the RPM's @ 2500
