If the alternator voltage is above 12.6 volts, then the problem could be a bad cell in the battery.
Each cell can be measured, but it's a dangerous test to do.
Best is to take the battery to a battery shop like sears or Autozone. They usually will check it for free.
Hope this helps.

Assuming you are driving at least 20 miles at highway speeds then its time to test the charging system

you need a DVOM to monitor the alternator output while holding the RPM's @ 2500

I own a honda city 2004 with automatic

The fluid in the transmission has to be changed along with the filter just like youe engine oil, only not as frequently. Have your transmission fluid and filter serviced and see if this helps. A qualified technician can tell from the old fluid if there is internal transmission damage.

Won't start after winter in garage with fuel stabiliser

your battery is dead. The electric clicking is a telltale sign that the battery is weak or depleted and does not have enough juice to turn over the starter. This is extremely common when the car is left to sit for an extended period without being used.

the clicking you hear is the starter solenoid trying to engage the starter, but the battery is to weak to do so.

There are a couple solutions. First you can get a set of jumper cables and jump the s2000 with anther battery. Once the car is running the battery will alutomatically begin to recharge.

the second is to buy and use whats called a trickle charger or 'battery tenderizer' this is a small device that you plug into the car and it will automatically keep the battery charged over extended periods of time without the risk of over charging the battery. If you use one of these it will also slowly charge yoru current battery enough overnight for it to work in the morning.
