Trans fluid is leaking onto exhaust pipe, either level to high or bad seal.

How do i put fluid in the automatic transmission of a 99 jetta?

Volkswagon says the transmission fluid is supposed to be good for the life of the car and therefore they make no provision for adding fluid. There is a breather with a plastic cap on the side of the transmission that you can use to fill the unit. There is no dipstick, so to find out if it is at the proper level VW has a tube into the pan at the drainplug which automatically levels the fluid. You fill at the breather and after removing the drainplug wait until it stops leaking or dripping. It is then at the right level. The excess fluid in the pan overflows the tube and drains out. Sounds complicated but I hope my crude explanation helps!

Need to check transmission fluid in my 06 tundra

On that particular vehicle there is no dipstick. There is a fill plug and an overflow plug on the transmission itself. To fill the transmission, you must use the Toyota manufacturer's automatic transmission fluid and have the vehicle on a flat, level surface. Remove the overflow plug and place a drain pan under it to catch any excess that runs out. Remove the fill plug, and fill the transmission with approved fluid until it begins to run out of the overflow hole. Wait until the excess has finished draining out, then reinstall the overflow and fill plugs and you're all set.

Transmission fluid is low with no leak. Where is the fluid going?

I would rec putting a flor dye in trans fluid which you can by at Autozone and using a UV light also you can purchase an inexpoensive one from Autozone to check for external leaks first. Otherwise sometimes fluid can be burned off or sucked through vac ports and burned in engine. If you notice excessive smoke then that could be the cause.

.The seal that keeps fluid inside the transfer case and thus the transmission is vital for the smooth operation of the vehicle's transmission. When fluid is leaking from a broken seal, it reduces the volume of fluid that is currently working inside the transmission. A loss in fluid pressure also occurs, which will make shifting gears more difficult for an automatic or manually shifted transmission. If you notice that your transmission is having difficulty shifting to higher or lower gears, you should contact a certified mechanic as soon as possible to inspect this problem and offer a solution.

Starts first time, no smoke on normal running, then rev up and white smoke comes out??? no wrong feul!!! changed air, oil and feul filters, but still throwing out white smoke on reving... can anyone help?...

It could be a coolant or transmission fluid leak in the combustion chamber. Check your coolant and transmission fluid to see if one or both are low. White smoke from the exhaust is a classic symptom of a blown head gasket, have your cooling system pressure checked. If that checks out good then have your transmission checked.

Car cuts out when reversing

this could possibly be a bad motor mount letting the engine rock to pinch hoses for vacume and or wiring . if you can watch the engine with the hood up and the car running with the brake peddle depressed and the parking brake on move the gear selector from D to R if automatic if manual let out the clutch just enough to put a little pressure on the engine and watch for excessive movement in the engine.

Excess transmission fluid

The easiest way is to pull the line off and put a rubber hose over the connection. Crank the engine over. The best way is to drop the pan and put a new gasket on it and fill it with 4 quarts of fluid. Look at your dipstick, it will tell you whether the truck needs to be in neutral or park to check the fluid.
