2008 g6 sedan trunk will only open with key after having a big item stuffed in trunk fuses are ok

Did you check for a loose electrical connector on the trunk lock mechanism? There was a small two prong connector that was loose on my 2001 Pontiac Grand Am I connected it and the trunk button on drivers door now works and when I get a new key fob I am sure it will work.

A car with a lock turn on and mi car wont turn on it a pontiac g6 how can i fix it?

do you mean the ignition lock is engaged and won't unlock when the key is inserted ? is the key very worn ? if so get a new one cut or use the spare if you have one , other wise you will have to strip out the steering wheel cowling and either manually try to get the lock undone , with a lot of wiggling , gently with the key and the wheel at the same time or may have to have a new ignition barrel

Why can't I unlock my ignition and start my car?

Put one hand on the steering wheel and rotate slightly left and right alternatively whilst turning the ignition key at the same time with the other hand. This might release the steering wheel and start ignition.

Hope this helps.

Key pontiac g6

You can pull your computer fuse out to kill engine. But the problem could be many things. I would start with the ignition itself. May be rebuildable.

2008 pontiac g6 steering wheel removal procedure

1
Turn on your car. Turn the steering wheel so the front tires are pointing directly forward. Turn off your car.
2
  • Pop the hood on your car and disconnect the black and red battery cables from the battery with pliers. By disconnecting the battery you will prevent the airbag and horn from malfunctioning or blowing.
  • 3 Take the center cover off of your steering wheel. There should be four to six screws on the back side of the steering wheel. Unscrew these, then pry the cover off with a flathead screwdriver.
  • 4 Remove the retaining clip on the center of your steering wheel with pliers. Place the correct size socket on the retaining nut, and loosen the nut, unscrewing it one turn.
  • 5 Lie back in the seat and prop your knees under the bottom/sides of the steering wheel. Apply pressure on the back side of the steering wheel with your knees by pushing on your toes.
  • 6 Place the rubber mallet over the retaining nut with your left hand. Apply pressure with your knees. With your right hand, bang on top of the rubber mallet until the steering wheel pops loose.
  • 7
  • Unscrew the retaining nut completely and remove the steering wheel.

Key won't turn in my pontiac g5. I have 2 keys, both fail to turn. battery seems fine , all lights work can use remote start, but still can not turn key

Hello: You might try tapping on the lock cylinder while turning and jiggling the key, if that don't work you will have to replace the lock cylinder.

2005 Pontiac G6 wont turn ignition cylinder with key. Tried to move shifter back and forth , pressed brake pedels , emergency brake. Still nothing. I am thinking its a locksmith issue. Any ideas? Thanks.

Try turning the steering wheel from side to side as you turn the key.I know there isnt really any wiggle room in the steering now,but you don't need to actually move the wheel very far, you are just putting enough weight on the wheel to take the load off of the steering wheel locking mechanism which is in a bind right now.
