Where is thermostat on 04 trailblazer 4.2 inline 6cyl

The top picture is thermostat housing. It appears to be toward front of engine, lower, driver side. Usually, one of the radiator hoses goes to thermostat housing.

On a 1997 Eldorado Seville Cadillac does the top radiator hose go into the water pump or the thermostat

The top radiator hose goes into the thermostat on the top of the engine and the lower comes out of the water pump and returns to the radiator. Hope this helps.

Runs hot sometimes. Top radiator hose hot, bottom cold. What's wrong?

top hose should be hot, all water from engine goes through upper hose, then radiator to cool and out lower hose.

Where is the thermostat?

Top radiator hose, one end goes to the radiator, the other end goes to the thermostat housing at the top front of the engine, three bolts to undo to remove the housing and access the thermostat. If you remove the radiator cap and suck out the coolant from the top of the core then none will be spilled when the thermostat housing is removed.

Where is the thermostat for the 2007 freestar

Follow your top radiator hose to the engine, where it connects to the thermostat housing (unless your newew car has somehow a remote mounted thermostat). It has to be near the top radiator hose, so when opened, coolant enters hose and goes into radiator.

How to replace the thermostat

Hi, if you follow the bottom hose on your radiator to your motor, right where the hose goes is where the thermostat is. Its pretty simple to replace.
Follow the hose that goes from the top of the radiator to the top of the engine. The hose is black flexible, roughly 1.5" in diameter. This hose goes into a "gooseneck" on the top of the engine, secured with a clamp. Remove the clamp and the hose, and remove the gooseneck from the engine. The thermostat will be located underneath the gooseneck. Simply lift out the old thermostat, install the new one, and replace the gasket. Reassemble.

Take care

Where is the thermostat located grand am 2000?

Under the radiator hose that meets the top of the engine
under the throttlebody if you follow the heater hose from firewall on the driverside toward the engine it goes to the thermostat housing.

To get to the thermostat you need to remove air cleaner box assembly from the throttle body and move it out of the way. Next, remove the nut at the throttle body that holds the steel tube that goes to the heater hose, remove all hoses that connect to this tube and raise it out of the way. Remove the steel line that goes to the radiator surge tank from the thermostat housing. Now the fun part. With a 13MM box end wrench, loosen the lower bolt from the thermostat housing. A 13 mm socket will remove the top bolt. Remove the thermostat cover and remove the thermostat. Reverse to install.
