Look in the car's owners manual for emergency fuel shutoff. This feature is designed to disable fuel flowing to the engine compartment when a front end collision occurs and will keep the fuel pump from receiving power until you push the button to reset the switch. On Fords it is under the dash on the passenger side and it is a big red button just out of site. Your manual should tell you exactly where the fuel reset switch button is located for your vehicle.

It may be necessary to adjust the Shift Lever so the car transmission is solidly in park in order to permit the ignition switch to activate the starter. With a front end impact it may not be in the correct position. When you loosen and retighten any cables near the shift linkage you may see the park indicator in the right position on the shift lever, but it may not be moving the transmission lever to the correct position. It does not have to be off very much to keep the car from starting. You can also "attempt" to start from neutral but if the position is off for park it may also be off when you are in neutral.

What is a b2293 code on 2003 mercury mountaineer

B2293

Pinpoint Test H: LFC 19 and 21/DTC B2293 - Restraint System Airbag Status
Normal Operation
The restraints control module (RCM) checks all of the front air bag circuits for faults. If the RCM detects one of the following faults on any of the front air bag circuits, it will store diagnostic trouble code (DTC) B2293 in memory and, depending on the fault, flash either lamp fault code (LFC) 19 or 21 (or higher priority code if one exists) on the air bag indicator.
Fault Conditions
The RCM monitors for the following fault conditions:
  • low resistance.
  • circuit open.
  • circuit short to voltage.
  • circuit short to ground.
Possible Causes
A driver air bag status fault can be caused by:
  • damaged wiring, terminals, or connectors.
  • a faulty clockspring.
  • a faulty driver air bag module.
  • RCM is faulted.
A passenger air bag status fault can be caused by:
  • damaged wiring, terminals, or connectors.
  • a faulty passenger air bag module.
  • RCM is faulted.

I have a 1993 Toyota Land Cruiser with front end damage. There was very little anti freeze in it but I was able to drive it off the tow truck to the driveway. Now it doesn't want to start.

Water is essential to the to the life of an engine and running it without water will cause internal damage. the length of time is of no importance as you have hot moving parts with no cooling . How long was it running with the front end damage as the damage could have been done then. Have a compression test done

After crash air bag liite is on 1995 chevy lumina need toplug in used air bags

Nothing will happen including air bag operation in the future. Air bag system is disabled by the computer any time the light is on. Probably have damaged sensor wires or sensor in the front due to previous front end damage. If a body shop repaired your car, take it back and demand they fix your car properly as this is part of the job.
NOTE: Before installing the air bags be sure to disconnect the battery "and" remove the air bag fuse and wait at least 3 minutes before working with the system. Safety first !!!12_24_2012_6_19_01_pm.png

Our chrysler pt cruiser has a problem. Every couple of minutes alarm goes off and AIR BAG lights up. ?????????

Is your battery starting to loose its charge? Check and see. If the charge drops to low it resets the computer and the alarm goes off and various dash board warning lights sometimes go off. If that isn't the problem try pulling the fuse and check to make sure it isn't damaged or partially blown.

I've been in a wreck the damage is fixed. I have a new airbag control module. I've been told I need to replace the "crash sensors" before installing the new airbag control module. Where are the Crash...

The crash sensors are located inside the computer the accelarometer would of been replaced if the computer was replaced. Or the air bag control modual. The clock spring would need to be replaced but the front magnetic sensors should be fine, they don't normally wear out. they can be damaged but the air bag warning light would flash if it was bad. And the air bag would still not go off unless the other condtions are met to make the bag deploy. The air control modual would have been replaced if it was done by a shop that is part of the service when the bags deploy. The crash sensors are a magnet with a steel ball and when the right speed is reached and the ball is let go from the metal o ring that it sits in it will deploy the first trigger the next trigger would be the acelorometer in the air control module and the impact would have to be strong enought to knock that ball loose as well to trigger the air bag.

SERVICE RIDE CONTROL

Hi. this car is equipped with a air ride system that is very sophisticated. There are four air bag Assembly that are located and attached to each tire axle on your car. each axle has a air ride sensor unit that regulates the air in and out flow during transit. there are air flow lines that run to each tire or suspension assembly as well. these lines are fed threw a compressor system that is located inside the trunk.

When you had your unfortunate accident, the damage on the front driver side has initiated some sort of damage that has damaged the sensor or it has damaged the air bag or sir line assembly. the warning light is a reminder that is instructing you or the owner , to take this car in for this service.

I suspect there has been some sort of damage to the air bag assembly on the affected side of your vehicle.

it may be a sensor or it could be more serious like an damaged air line or bag. The best way to find out is to take it in for the inspection by a qualified service tech.

PLease rate and god bless:)

Air bag replacement in 2003 grand am

That is the only sensor to trigger the bags. The new module needs to be programmed to the car by the dealer or someone with a scan tool capable of that.
