change distributor. this year model is easy. there's only one way to put distributor in/only goes in as long as you note position of rotor and set it back in with rotor pointing the same direction , no timing adjustment on it, it's controlled electronically.

96 gmc yukon 5.7 liter vortec ....speedometer and tach started jumping all over the place and no power pulling away from a stop....speedometer and auto ****** are on the same fuse...changed fuse but no...


Hello: This is a common problem. The cluster is faulty. Check battery cables for clean and tight. Check all grounds. I don't think it could have anything to do with pulling away from a stop. Is the transmission slipping?

What type of antifreeze does the 96 GMC Yukon use?


any antifreeze will work
you use antifreeze in the winter to keep every thing from freezing
you use coolant for the summer month to keep the motor from
over heating
so there is a difference

What releases the rear axels from the differential, to change the axel seals on the backer plate.96 yukon.


remove the pot cover and drain, remove the bolt that holds the center diff pin in, then remove pin,AT THIS POINT DO NOT TURN ANYTHING AXLES OR DIFF OR DRIVESHAFT push axle inward and remove u clip that holds shaft in then pull shaft out

its easy you need things called tools and a state of mind. plus you need to take off the bolts that are connected on the fly wheel.. before you start lifting

Brake lights don't work. Fuse is good, bulb is good, but brakes still won't come on. GMC Sonoma 1994.


please check your brake light switch located near the brake pedal. it could be faulty.

u need to change nut and put some locktite on it there is no torque for it
