you would need a scan tool to reset it, if it is the gas cap and you fixed the problem with it then the light will go out after 100 miles of driving with a couple of cold starts. if it doesnt go out after a few days of driving then that wasnt the problem.

The converter should last 10 or 15 years if you don't have issues that damage it. Get thoses codes checked out and repaired. If you have antifreeze entering the exhaust,a leaking fuel injector, bad o2 sensor etc, that could ruin the converter,if you drive it that way for a year or more. The converter may be installed wrong or an exhaust joint is leaking in air and setting a code. o2 sensor loose and other issues. Have to start somewhere and walk it down untill you find the problem.

In order to find that requires what is called a smoke machine. The evap is a very low pressure system, and a leak is almost impossible to detect. The smoke machine puts a low pressure stream of smoke into the system through a port in the engine compartment and then you follow the lines back to the tank, generally with a light to see the smoke coming out.
Hope this helps
