Yes it should start, but you have a differant problem,i would suspect fuel, check if you have fuel to engine, also remove air filter from engine and let breath on its own,i would suspect one or the other it will fire on 3 cyclinders but run badly,a burnt out valve will give the same problem,if all fails get a compression test.adrian,,,

We hope so. Maybe you had a defective plug with a crack in the insulator. Make sure you gap the new one right, and I recommend you check the gap on the others. Assuming you have a 4 banger, one out may be enough to prevent start, but not in most cases. Let us know what happens after you fix the plugs.

My sidekick will just die or barely run it died

last year, OBD1 car (dumbb ECU)
no scan tools for it
if you run on the road with that hack , and wreck
expect a nice fire. fuel fire.
if you used a voltmeter and say 12vdc there, all hotwiring stuff
need not be done. (
it stalled (misfire)
and then would not what? start but cranks ok?
4wd?
3sp ,4sp auto or 5speed stick
16v engine or 8v, both are G16s but EFI radially different.
16v is MPI with 4 injectors, 8v is 1 injector TBI
try a new
cap,.rotor spark wires and spark plugs yet?
cant burn fuel with bad spark
i guess the cam bent did not slip as it run ok later, but is 60,000 mile belt. and will slip ignored.

next time it stalls
check headlamps they work, and all electric
then see if CEL glows key on, i must or ECU lost power
it has 3 fuse that can rust, IG coil, FI, and DOME.
the CEL must glow, is first checks.

Running fine. Died and wont start. Cranks fine

can you hear the fuel pump kick on when you turn the key on but without crancking the engine? Generally the fuel pump will prime for about two to three seconds when you first turn the key on. if you don't hear it that's probably the culprit. If you do hear it it may be a bad pump. also should check to see if you have spark. You can do this by removing a plug wire and using another spark plug. Ground the plug to somthing metal and have someone crank the engine (making sure you are not touching the plug or metal) You should see a spark while cranking. Good luck

My 1989 suzuki sidekick cranks but wont start. I changed the battery too.

you need to go step by step threw your system. first check the spark plugs to see if there is any moisture if so all bad. check wires to plugs and clean contacts inside distributor cap. check compression on each cylinder. they should be with in 10 psi of each other. check to see if there is even any juice being fed to the distributor. if there is no spark you need to fallow it back to the source until you find the problem.

I have an 03 kia rio and am having power issues. The check engine light is on and the car simply fails to go when the gas is depressed. It acts like its starving for fuel and sounds like its only running...

I have the same issue with mine and found that if you gap the plugs to .026 -.028 instead of the factory settings of about .042 that the issue is 95% gone. I had changed the coil, plugs and wires before I found this remedy. The issues resurfaces now and then but not nearly as bad. Reset the ecm by pulling the 10 amp fuse in the under hood panel and it'll run better also. Stick with regular plugs, not platinum or others.

Finding truoble codes for 1994 suzuki sidekick

if you live in the states... just go to an autozone... they will scan the codes for free. you may also be able to retrieve the codes by turning the key off and on 3 times and counting the amount of times the check engine light flashes. almost like morse code... when you reach code 55 that's the end of the codes. this does not always work.
