No, but I would change oil at next opportunity. It will gum up the radiator

Hello. Thanks for reading. I have a 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix and I can hear sloshing behind the dashboard when taking turns or accelerating. I'm pretty certain it's the AC line that's clogged....

Hello Chris,

Recently I was at a mechanics garage. I was fortunate enough to see the A/C Unit removed from a vehicle; the units are very complex and much larger than I could have ever imagined. The whole dash board and front panel had to be removed to access and remove all of the A/C and parts effectively. I would suggest starting there.

Good Luck!

Will a broken water pump cause anti freeze to mix with oil and drip

Yes, your water pump attaches to the front of the engine block. If a leak opens up between the two, coolant goes into the crankcase along with oil. That means water and oil are being circulated through the bearings and cylinders of your engine. Don't drive it in this condition.

Anti-freeze in my engine

first drain the contaminated fluids.
replace oil filter and put new oil in crankcase.
drive a few days and check for moisture.
will be foamy white on dipstick.
this could foul the plugs or cause white smoke in the exhaust
if you can't see behind the vehicle after a couple days change
the oil and dump out the filter.
the filter could be rinsed out with some gas.

There oil in my anti freeze reservior, what could it be?

General Motors had a problem with their lower intake gasket leaking oil into the coolant. If put off too long, it will turn into a blown head gasket and will likely need engine replacement. Take your vehicle to a professional to see if it's worth fixing the intake gasket or if it's gone too far already. It's recommended to replace your heater core, radiator, and flush the block.

I have a 2005 uplander and it over heats and loses all antifreeze and we have to keep putting more in it . We cant seem to find where it is coming out from any ide's what might be causing this problem?

My suggestion is to pull the oil dipstick on your vehicle and check your oil level also look at the color of the oil. If the oil is clear looking like you had the oil changed your fine. If the oil is very dark almost black looking, you probably need and oil change but your still fine. If the oil mark on the oil stick is very high and milky in color then I would think you have a blown head gasket on your vehicle and all of your anti freeze is flowing back into your oil pan. This can be a very expensive fix to your vehicle. I hope this helps you out on where to look to find where your anti freeze may be going.

I just changed the radiator. How much antifreeze do I put in?

put a 50/50 mix. remove radiator cap when cold, start car let run 1 min and dump 50/50 mix till full, a little will come out cap when thermostat opens this is normal, when thermostat opens coolant will go down, continue to fill till full, put cap on and fill reservoir to cold mark, check reservoir after you run a day and fill if needed to the full cold mark again

Ive only had my suzuki grand vitara sz4 2 mths but a friend suggested i check the anti freeze level and after just looking its on low, will i need to top it up immediately and what sort should i use? Will...

If it isn't over heating it shouldn't be a problem unless you are seeing water in the engine oil. Add a 50/50 mix of Anti Freeze and water to the over flow bottle to the full mark and allow the closed circulation of the vehicle to bring in what it needs. It is designed to draw fluid from that bottle when needed. Always add fluid to the radiator through that unless you have drained the radiator for some reason. Any good Antifreeze will work. Personally I use Prestone and Prestone has a ready mix available as well to simplify the process.

White smoke from tailpipe and low oil pressure

How's the anti-freeze doing? Usually when you see white smoke coming out the tailpipe it's because you are getting anti-freeze in the exhaust somehow. Try to sniff it a little does smell like anti-freeze, or oil? I don't know why the oil pressure would be low unless you are getting anti-freeze in the oil. Does the oil look milky, knda like chocolate milk? The low oil pressure could also be a faulty gauge, you may want to have a mechanic put a mechanical gauge on the car for test purposes.
