Exhaust smoke is not a good thing, it can slowly destroy the catalytic converter. The color of the smoke is important to know, gray smoke is usually oil burning and white smoke is coolant.

My 01 gmc jimmy made a loud pop and white smoke started blowing out from under the hood. Now it makes a knocking sound but not like its low on oil or inside the motor. I dont have water in my oil and now...

The smoke under hood means that u need replace gasket between exhaust pipe and engine but smoke and knocking is not very good, it looks like your engine pistons has cracks and u r loosing oil by smoke time to time, i'd buy used engine from crashed car with less miles on it

Engine runs good but white smoke comming out of exaust oil good water good

I would guess you have a blown headgasket. Do a Compression test one should be low.
Burning antifreeze makes a lot of white smoke.

Was running great then it just would not start and when it did it started idling fast now the exaust will glow red

if engine is running without missfire check catyletic converter for plugging also very rich running will cause exhaust to glow but will cause alot of black smoke from tail pipe I dont reccomend driving vehicle till exhaust or rich running is fixed can lead to engine failure

Why is my motor oil coming out my tail pipe?

Bad Piston,Bad rings, bad valve seals,Cracked cylinder head.cracked block. Don't forget now there is a lot of suction and compression going on in a motor. If any of the above are happening in an engine the suction will pass oil through a bad piston or rings or any of the above and cause Blue smoke and spit oil out the exaust along with blue smoke.

Engine runs fine it blows white smoke out of exaust and uses one quart of oil in one hundred miles

This is symptoms of a blown head gasket.
White smoke is antifreeze burning in the combustion phase.
Oil is also seeping through and being eliminated in the same manner.
Check your tailpipe for oil. Also - check your oil. If it is brown/milky instead of black - you have a head gasket failure or cracked block/cylinder.
Check the coolant quality too. Floating oil or a brown murk - means the same.

Good luck!!

I did an oil change on my 2001 daewoo lanos emptyed out the old motor oil and filled it with new castrol motor oil 4 courts to be exact and added 2 courts of trans mision fluid not knowing how much its...

First, how did the engine run before you did the tune-up? any missing or running hot? Any coolant loss? any coolant stains or fouling on the old plugs? Generally white smoke from the tailpipe is from a cylinder head gasket problem. It cannot have happened by changing the plugs, but a compression test may tell you more. I am concerned about adding trans fluid when you don't know the original level...on most units you would have had a shifting or delayed engagement problem if you were two quarts low. That must be corrected immediately or you will damage the transmission. Unless your transmission uses a vacuum modulator, that should have no effect on what comes out the tailpipe but if it does and it is bad, it definitely will cause a ton of smoking...however, it should have been doing that all along. When doing any further service, I suggest you get yourself a basic manual like chiltons or haynes to give you some good directions and to avoid situations like you are in now.

my 2001 Ford Windstar blows smoke and heavy drops of oil out the exaust, and usually only does it when it is cold and you first start it. The oil level in the crank case runs all out in two days and have to add four quarts of oil. What do you think the problem is?

Did you overheat the engine? Is the engine oil milky? Most likely you have a blown head gasket. Especially if you answered yes to any of the two questions above.
