Question about 2003 Mitsubishi Diamante

Open Question

My 2003 diamante's battery died. I went to jump start it and the alarm goes off and I can't seem to get it turned off. I tried starting the engine, putting it into drive, taking the jumper cables off but nothing works until I turn the key off and it kills the battery. I'm assuming it's because the car sences a break in and sounds the alarm off? Can I disable it so that I can charge my battery?

Most likely the computer thinks the car has been stolen and will not let it start. You will need to take it to the dealer and the will have to reprogram the computer and unlock the security system. Hope this helps.

with the battery fully charged try scraping the positive over the terminal on the battery and see if it sparks like a draw is sucking out amps if theres no draw on the battery it wont spark at all (good) if it sparks (bad) you have something grounded and killing your battery.. gl

SOURCE: killed then we jumped started it it went about 2

sounds like the alternator is not putting out voltage. when running, at battery should be at least--13.8 to 14.2 volts. when off at battery, should be at least 12.6 or better. less than 12 volts battery is bad. good-luck !!~ you may also want to check wires from alt, to battery. make sure battery terminals are tight and clean.

Driving along lights dimmed, instrument panel died, loss of power then engine cut out & wouldn't start. Starts with a jump but when i turn key to heat glow plug, instrument panel goes mad

I assume there's a problem with alternator. Check the grounding to engine, check continuity of a positive wire between alternator and battery. the energizing voltage should be checked as well. Might be the bad connection between battery and vehicle body grounding. Diesel cars are sensitive even in a little loss of connection and rust in the connection points.

You may have internal engine damage . broken cam or can.. try to turn the engine manually with a wrench to see if there is any problem while rotate it. In the cold weather when you start engine especially been sitting for too long, engine part need to be lubricated fast otherwise damage it will occur. check and smell the engine oil for strange condition

The battery died on my 03 diamante. when i tried to recharge it the car alarm started and wont stop to allow the car to keep a charge?

Only Recharge the Battery with both the Cables: Positive and Negative removed from the Battery.
With the Charger OFF the Battery - Reset your Alarm turning it OFF.
Then Disconnect the Battery completely.
Never Recharge a Battery while it is still connected.

Try checking the wiring loom that goes on the ignition coils for humidity as your problem seems to be a humidity ingress in the wiring.
