Question about 2006 Chevrolet Equinox

1 Answer

2006 Chevy Equinox won't start, battery is fine...clicks like starter problem but lots of internal lights come on. Had been behaving oddly when turning key to start, "delayed" starting, prior to this nonstarting issue.

Sounds like you have a starter solenoid problem. Or maybe loose connections on solenoid.

I just went throught the same problem 2 minutes ago w my 08 Equinox. I tried the second key with the second remote and it started right up. Then I remote locked it and tried the first remote and key again and it just clicked like a relay was engaging but no start. I went back and forth, but only the second key and remote worked. I reprogramed the first key per the console instructions and it worked. I believe that keys eventually loose their program. Good luck

I replaced my ignition now my 2006 chevy equinox wont start?

There could be a lot of things going on here, need more information...
If the motor wont turn over when you turn ther key, is there enough power? Charge battery, check charging system.
If the motor turns over but does not start, could be anything from the electronics, fuel delivery etc.
If it just clicks when you turn the key it could be a starter.
Hope this at least gets you started in the right direction.

I recently bought a equinox 2006 my key pad is not working to disarm the truck and I can't start it

This may be related to the antitheft system The system is known for turning off the starter and/or injectors when it fails. Is there a light on the dash that says SECURITY? This is a common problem worth looking into.

You did not mention rotors but that could be the source of the grinding. The pulsating probably is traceable to your ABS and traction control syatems

My 2007 chevy equinox wont start, i turn the key and it clicks and just shuts down. i used it yesterday and it worked fine i had no trouble starting it, i didnt leave on the lights or anything. please help

Is it one of those clicks the starter solenoid and then can't make it click again until turning the key off and waiting???
Might check and make sure the battery connections are tight. Might also be the starter solenoid.

My 2006 Equinox won't start. The battery is fine it is just making a lot of clicking noises. What could be the problem?

First question is: Is the battery really fine? Turn on the headlights and see if they stay on while trying to crank the engine.

If they stay on on then yes, the batttery is fine and the problem is likely your starter solenoid.

if not, then you may have a dead cell or two in the battery that provide enough power to light up your interior and run accessories, but cannot turn the engine over. Hope this helps you find the issue. Cliff
