Your vehicle does use R134a. You need a quick connect hose that does only fit the low side fitting. The high side fitting is larger, you can not attach it to the wrong one, it will not fit.

A/C Compressor Compatible with r134a?

Yes, you can buy a small kit with the adapter fittings and use R134. You can not add R134 if the system has R12 in it now.

look at the connection fitting as this was the change over period from R12 to R134 the latter of which will work of sorts but as well on the earlier system but R12 is now prohibited from sale as too polutant

Need to add freon to my 1997 gmc sububan diesel. Need to know which is the low side.

The low side is the smaller valve, and if you are using a one hose system to charge it then that fitting will only fit the low side valve which is the small one, good day.

You need R134-a refrigerant with PAG oil for your HVAC system (part number F7AZ-19589-DA) . The capacity is as follows:

With auxiliary climate control:

64 oz R134-a refrigerant
13 oz PAG oil

Without auxiliary climate control:

44 oz R134-a refrigerant
9 oz PAG oil

Where is the intake port for freon in 2000 ford expedition

The AC is charged with R134 refrigerant through the low pressure side of the system, the charging port is on the Accumulator/Receiver Dryer, this is a round canister under the hood on the drivers side near the rear of the engine bay. Below is a picture of the Accumulator so you can ID it.

My 2003 Ford Explorer air conditioning is not blowing cold air. I can hear the compressor kicking on, but it only cool sometimes. Does it need freon? If so, How do I do that myself?

Your system is low on refrigerant and needs some more R134. Go to your local parts store and get a recharge kit which will come with a can of R134 and a hose to connect the can to the system. The fitting on the system will be on the passenger side of the vehicle, under the hood. Follow the instructions in the kit and you should be ok. Don't add more than you need to get the a/c blowing consistent cold air. Too much refrigerant can be just as bad and ineffective as too little.

the only way to check that is to look under the hood, and look for your AC. there will be a little sticker that will say "R13a" if you can. i believe that ford didnt start using it until 95 though

it should use R134 it should have a tag on the front of the hood that says what is uses. if it uses 12 than you will need to drain all the fluid and start fresh with R134
