Where is the thermostat located on a 1997 ford Taurus SHO?

Trace the top radiator hose back to the engine. Where it ends is the thermostat housing. You'll have to drain your radiator, remove the radiator hose at the housing on the engine side, then there's usually 2 bolts that hold the housing on. remove the housing, remove the thermostat Noting which direction the thermostat is sitting, replace with the new one in the same position, put a new gasket on the thermostat housing and reverse your steps to put it back together. NOTE**** DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING BOLTS*** if you strip them or snap them off you will be looking at a major repair bill.

Location of thermostat 1997 ford taurus dohc 24 valve v6

on the 1997 Taurus DOHC v6 the thermostat is conveniently located at the front passenger side of the engine, just up over top of the the mud guard. There's about a dozen screws (bolt heads) to take off, slip out the mud guard and there's the lower radiator hose and the thermostat housing! The thermostat is held in by a reusable O ring and is pretty well engineered for being in such a surprising location.

Where is the temp sensor on a 97 4.6 liter in a f-150 4x4 extended cab

Usually located right next to the thermostat. If you don't know where that is, just follow any of the large hoses from your radiator to where it goes into your engine. If it plugs into a part that is round in the middle with a general ovular shape around it with a bolt on either side, that the thermostat.

If you're asking about the cooling system thermostat, follow the top radiator hose to the engine block. There will be a housing at the end of the hose. The thermostat is in there.

Thermostat replacement

Follow your radiator hose all the way to the engine block, it is located at the end of this hoes. you will need to remove this hose to retrieve it. this will be the large hose connected to the radiator. there is a metal couple at the end that couples this hose to the engine block. its in the front of the motor on top of the water pump.
