I had my 50psi fuel pump rebuilt cause of a bad mother board in pump they tested it sent it back now my circuit breaker blows when i hit the gas is my circuit breaker badd now

Unlikely the breaker is faulty, but it is possible.

Most likely the pump is consuming too much current or more current than the breaker is designed to cope with.

A fuel pump is simply a pump driven by a motor that is designed to provide a greater volume of fuel than the engine could ever need right from the initial startup to maximum load and speed. It is the fuel pressure regulator that provides the chosen fuel line pressure and fuel constantly circulates at that pressure therefore the current the pump motor consumes remains constant regardless of the engine speed or load.

Should there be a fuel line blockage, for instance, any healthy pump will be capable of generating a pressure sufficient to burst many types of fuel hose/pipe and it is only when something like that happens or an adjustable fuel pressure regulator is used that is adjusted for a greater than design pressure that the pump will work harder and consume more current.

I suggest you check the fuel line pressure and adjust or replace the regulator if it is significantly higher than specification and then measure the current being consumed by the pump if the breaker is still tripping. If the current is within limits replace the breaker and if the current is excessive you should seek guidance from the people who rebuilt it.

What tools specifically will I need to replace the fuel pump on a 1995 ford Taurus ,sockets ect also is there a way to troubleshoot to be sure it's the fuel pump that is bad?

Yes, there is! And without taking the fuel pump out. You can disconnect the power feed from the fuel pump at the tank, and connect a power source (such as a separate battery), to it, but route that power source through a current meter. If the current meter shows normal current draw, take note of the current reading, drain the fuel tank, and take a second current reading, which should be much lower because the pump is only pumping air! By the way, you can ALSO disconnect the fuel line and let that pump push the fuel out of the tank, and into a holding tank. That will also give you an idea whether a fuel filter may be clogged or clogging up! If the pump does not run at all from the alternate power source, you have found your problem!

No current is going to fuel pump and fuel pump is new

Check the fuel pump relay under the glove box. I found one on ebay for $20 and changed it in about 5-10 minutes. You have to remove a cloth cover but its only held on with twist clips. Videos on the internet are a big help.

Gas gauge stop working two weeks later truck would not start

your explanation is hard to make sense of, however check for current at the fuel pump (im assuming its an electronic fuel pump since you provided no information about the year make or model nor engine size) if current is present and you cant hear the pump humming when the key is turned on then replace the fuel pump and sending unit. if current isnt present then back track the system untill you find current, once you find current you have found the faulty part

Is there a fuel reset button for the fuel pump on my 1992 Nissan Maxima? If so where is located.

There is no fuel pump reset button on the 1992 Maxima. Check your fuel pump fuse under the dash. If it's not blown, check for current at the fuel pump connections. If you have current at the pump, then you probably have a bad fuel pump.

Have a 1997 ford expedition it will sit and idle but soon as you push gas pedal it blows fuel pump fuse

It's a short in the fuel pump. Try replacing it. But before you do. Be sure to follow the wiring from the fuel pump to the source for power. this may have a short that gets hit when the motor tilts on the mounts while revving. Thanks for asking!

1988 ford truck f-150 xlt lariat cant get current to fuel pump

Have you checked the 'inertia switch' which in the event of an accident shuts off the fuel supply to prevent a fire . It's usually located in the cab on pass. side. Some models have one reset button, some 2 which have to be pressed at the same time. If that's not it, here's how the power to the pump SHOULD work, you will have to follow the path to see where it stops. When you turn the key on it turns on the EEC power relay on, this relay then provides power to the PCM (power control module) and the control side of the fuel pump relay. Power for the fuel pump is supplied through a fuse link or high current fuse attached to the starter solenoid (battery side). From the fuse link or high current fuse current flows thru the fuel pump relay and inertia switch to the fuel pump. The fuel pump relay is controlled by the PCM. When the ignition switch is turned on the fuel pump will operate, if the switch is NOT turned to start position, the PCM will shut off the fuel pump off after 1 second. This is to avoid flooding the engine when it is not running, just key on. So check out to see if you have a fuse link or a high current fuse and if they are blown.
