The brake fluid reservoir sits on top of the master cylinder and is on the drivers side in the rear of the engine compartment against the firewall. You can see a picture here:

Brake pedal hard with engine running, same as engine off

Check fluid levels in your power steering/brake reservoirs and look for hydraulic fluid leaks in the power steering and brake lines. Could be a bad power steering pump too. Your owners manual should show positions of hydraulic reservoirs.

Location of transmission dip stick

Right behind the air box on the 2.4L engine. Note that this model car requires that the engine is off when checking the stick (unlike most cars). The procedure is to first get the engine up to operating termperature then put the car in park, engage the emergency brake, then put the car in drive low, drive 2, neutral, reverse then park. Shut car off then check transmission fluid level. Source - 2010 Chrysler Sebring owner's manual.

Where to put transmission oil at

As per the owners manual,

"1. Pull out the dipstick(the red transmission one)

2.Using a long-neck funnel, add enough fluid at the dipstick hole to bring it to the proper level.

It does not take much fluid, generally less than one pint(0.5l) Do not overfill. "

The transmission dipstick on the 3800 engine is located behind the engine towards the drivers side. It is right next to the brake fluid reservoir. Hope this helps.

I have a 1999 Nissan Altima and my Brake light just came on recently, my question is where do I check for brake fluid? Where is it located at?

the brake fluid reservoir is on the drivers side of the engine back by the firewall. I believe the cap is yellow and should say brake fluid or DOT3 or something simular. Use only DOT3 or DOT4 brake fluid from a sealed container.

You can also consult your owners manual to find it.

Wher do I locate my transmission fluid and brake fluid?

The Transmission fluid stick is located toward the back of the engine on the drivers side. Check on a level surface when the engine is hot and the vehicle is in "Park". Don't add fluid if within the crosshatch marks. Be sure to use the correct fluid if adding. Check your owner's manual for the correct Mercon fluid. My 2001 taurus with the 3.0 engine uses Mercon V (Mercon 5) only.

The Brake fluid can be visually checked. The master cylinder reservoir is also located on toward the back of the engine on the driver's side

2000 Lincoln ls where do you put break fluid in

The brake fluid goes in the brake master cylinder. (Fluid Reservoir)

There are pictures on pages 197 and 198 in the Owner's Manual (depending on which engine you have) they will show you exactly where this reservoir is located.

If you do not have an Owner's Manual, you can download a FREE PDF version: click HERE.

Also note that you should NEVER have to add brake fluid to your car. If the fluid level is low, then there is a leak in the system that MUST be diagnosed and repaired IMMEDIATELY! Failure to immediately repair a fluid leak in a brake hydraulic system can lead to serious personal injury, property damage, or DEATH!

Okay I just purchased a 2002 Sonata Hyundai and it didnt have the manual to it when i got it home..today my brake light on the dash board came on so I checked the fluids and it is low I need to know what...

If you go to a local motor parts store I am sure they will advise. Also there are owners forums online
http://www.hyundai-forums.com/ You probably need 'dot 4' brake fluid
HOWEVER the level might be low because of some other problem, have your brake pads checked for wear and fluid leaks on hoses or calipers or rear brakes as soon as possible.
Fluid level is usually low if there is a leak or the brake pads are VERY worn.

I hope I have been of help but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
I appreciate your vote if you appreciate my reply.

Light that looks like exclamation point in a circle located below tachometer flashing.

First off you need an owner's manual. You can get a free one here. http://pdfservicemanual.com/automotive/2001-ford-taurus-owners-manual The light that looks like a gear with an exclamation point inside indicates there is a problem with the transmission. May just be low of transmission fluid. To check the level dive the car until the transmission is warm, park on a level surface, place gear shift in park with engine running, and check transmission fluid level. Add only if necessary and do not overfill. If it is not low of fluid then seek professional help. The exclamation point in a circle under the fuel gauge next to the Brake light indicates you are low of brake fluid. Check the level of the brake fluid. If it is low you more than likely need to check your brake pads as they are worn out.

How do I add transmission fluid to a 1986 mercury lynx 2 door ??

The car would need to be level and the engine warm, set the parking brake and leave the engine running. If you look at the owners manual it may have you put it in neutral to check the level. If it needs fluid you add it by using a funnel and add directly down the tip stick pipe.
