Never heard a soleniod, theres a few soleniods in the trany, the best way to check would be a scan tool, i know theres a warranty on the newwer toyotas for trany problems and they are covered under the federal emmisions laws for 80,000 miles and i beleive 8 years, call your local dealer and ask, also when was the last time you had your trany fluid flushed? i own toyotas i always do bg trany services every 30,000 miles all toyota i owned went over 220,000 miles with no trany problems, (knock on wood) if the check engine light is on have it scanned, and also check out bg website. hope this helps.

Transmission slips after engine warms up

It isn't when the engine gets hot, it is when the transmission fluid gets hot that the slipping starts, due to wear of the clutches and gears inside the transmission.
First, check the fluid level to make sure it is full. If it is low, bring fluid level to full and see if that helps.
About all the owner can do with slipping automatics is trying a transmission fluid and filter change to see if transmission revives and stops slipping. The bottom pan is removed, fluid (about 6-8 quarts) is drained, and a new filter is installed before the pan is replaced with a new gasket, sealed up, and fresh fluid added. Sometimes it helps. Sometimes the transmission is worn too bad to help, and you are left with looking for a replacement transmission.
Check the fluid level first. Good luck.

My1999 voyager is making a clunking noise when down shifting and jerking and slipping like crazy new trans or something small to replace?. Where shoul i start

Hey..... sounds like something in trans especially as you say it slips like crazy.... my advice is to take to dealer for checking, or a REPUTABLE transmission repair shop..... it must be noted that your transmission is electronically controlled and needs the proper diagnostic equipment that only a dealer or rep trans shop will have.... it might be something as simple as the solonoid pack..... Hope this helps...... Steve.... Botswana

Check the obvious - fluid level up to par? If so go back to dealer (unfortunately) since their fix was not permanent.

I have a 2002 Mazda Protege automatic, I has been slipping more so when it is warm up. No engine light detectedand it starts up fine. Just when I am riding it tends to jump in and out of gear. Last check, we were told that the trand oil level were fine. Can you tell me what may be the problem.
