Try this procedure:-- With the key in the ignition tap it lightly with a rubber mallet. May take a couple of taps. Also try spraying wd-40 in the ignition switch module then retry after few minutes. If still the same proper after trying this procedures then yes its necessary to replace the ignition switch, ignition lock module. To remove the ignition switch out, this is the procedure. 1) First unplug the battery terminals. 2) Then take the three screws out of the plastic shroud around the switch and turn siganl assembly. 3) Then take out the three torx screws (special ones with the post in the center...anti tamper) out of the switch. 4) 4) Then unhook the two electrical connections and switch will come out easily.

Now to replace ignition key cylinder.

My 1993 toyota camry's automatic door won't lock. when i press the lock button or use the key, it just click back to open. what could theproblem be?

it could be a bad door switch or the key switch in the ignition, it thinks the key is in the ignition so it doesnt let you look the door it unlocks it, may need to replace the ignition or dissable the sensor in the igniton by cliping the wiring .

How do i bypass the igniton

If your looking for someone to tell you how to hot wire a car, your not going to get much help here. If you need information on replacing the ignition switch, or disabling the ignition before cranking the engine over for servicing then you've come to the right place.

THE IGNITON SWITCH WILL NOT START THE CAR IT CAN BE TURNED ONLY IN THE ON POSITION BUT WILL GO NO FARTHER. CURRENTLY HAVE TO START IT WITH A REMOTE STARTER. HAD REPLACED THE IGNITON SWITCH AND IT WORKED...

You have a lock cylinder problem, the plate that holds down the tumblers has broken or come off and this is causing the lock cylinder to jam and not be allowed to turn, you will need to take out the cylinder to repair.
