SOURCE: indicator not working on dashboard

Check in this order. Fuse(s). If not working, then the dashboard lighting should be next. Remove it and check for a blown light bulb(s) and replace accordingly. If problem persists, then you probably have a short and it will require further investigation, but it souds simple and fixable with ease for now. Let me know how things work out.

SOURCE: How do I reset the maintenance warning indicator at the dashboard ?

Ok. The proposed solution is pretty much on cue, but you'll need to do a couple things first. Make sure the drivers door is closed. Switch ignition to position 2. The maintenance interval should be visible. Push the tripometer to make this message go away. Then press the tripometer twice quickly and hold down. This should once again bring up the maintenance interval. While continuing to hold down Turn ignition off, then on to position 2 again and hold approx 10 secs. That should do it.

Dear Chris,

If you know about automotive motor or cars, you can analyze it self what is going on your cars and if you don't know about it, for this cases there is a lot of possibility causes.

For a little hints to start the car engine, you can check .
- Check car power batteries, if you can turn the car light on or you can see the indicator light panel on dashboard with battery indicator, that mean your battery fine, if the light indicator become blink and die, that mean your battery almost die, that become the battery unable to start the engine. That's all.
For the rest problem n cause, you can go to repair car services, they can analyze all the possibility on your car.

95 eagle vision esi slips out of gear at stops

there is a limp mode but I doubt if that is the problem
It indicates that the torque converter clutch servo/solenoid is faulty
run the fault codes to confirm if that is it or a faulty TCM
check wiring around the transmission

Car won't start and battery is good.

This is a common problem with all cars. Try to start the car in neutral. The neutral safety switch will not allow the starter to engage in any gear except park and neutral.
Another option is to firmly shift in and out of park several times. Just because the indicator shows park on the dashboard doesn't mean the neutral switch agrees with it. This firm shifting may realign the switch with the dasboard indicator. Good luck

2000 mitsubishi Diamante, one week after a new axle was installed, the first thing to happen was...When the car was started and after warm-up,once put into Drive, gear indicator light on the dashboard would...

By the sound of your problem your vehicle has an electronic automatic gear box but correct me if I am wrong..Now this can be caused due to a faulty electronic part but I cannot guarantee this.It may need a diagnostic tool hook up to the car to read the error code.(if it's giving a check engine light )

I just rebuilt my transmission on my 2003 chevy impala 3.4L, after reinstalling the motor and trans it will not start and the dashboard indication for the gears do not match the shifter position!?!?!

Sounds like you got the transmission linkage hooked up incorrectly. If you didn't get it right, the neutral safety switch(the one that lets you start the car when in neutral or park only) will prevent the car from starting.

Car wont start

try to start it in neutral. the trans. has a safety switch that will not allow the car to start in anything, but park and neutral. sometimes the shift lever gets a little out of line with the gear indicator. also try firmly shifting into and out of park a few times. this may flip the switch. good luck

1990 Acura Integra

When the Check Engine warning light has been reported on, turn the ignition on, pull down the passenger's side carpet from under the dashboard and observe the LED on the top of the ECU. The LED indicates a system failure code by blinking frequency. The ECU LED can indicate any number of simultaneous component problems by blinking separate codes, one after another. Problem codes 1 through 9 are indicated by individual short blinks. Problem codes 10 through 43 are indicated by a series of long and short blinks. One long blink equals 10 short blinks. Add the long and short blinks together to determine the problem code.
