Check at the fuse, both sides, the low pressure switch at the acumulator dryer. if this switch is bad or

open you will not get any power to your ac compressor. you can jump it out and if your compressor

comes on just change the switch, but make sure the seal is lubricated or you will have a freon leak.

good luck!

Air conditioner

turn your key on and your air on and see if you have power to the compressor clutch, if yes needs new compressor, if no check pressure switch/ switches. usually screwed into accumulator. Make sure there is power to switch and then put jumper wire in plug to see if that kicks compressor in, if yes the get new switch if no power to switch trace wires and look for a rub/break in wire. if there is power and you jump switch and compressor still has no power to it then keep tracing wires. If harness is good check for power coming out of control panel in the dash. this is just basic troubleshooting, npt specific for your escort.

A/C compressor doesn't engage

Have you checked the thermal protector switch on the compressor? If you probe the wire with a test light and the compressor comes on replace the switch.

Compressor not coming on check red wire on compressor with test light compressor comes on pressure good high and low air cold

If the compressor came on when you were testing it with a test light, it sounds like something is wrong with your ground for your compressor, and completely the circuit through your test light.

I have a 02 lincoln ls . the air conditiong is not working . i took it to a local shop they check the compressor, fuses, relays, pressure swithches, all is checcking out good. They jump the compressor...

YOU COULD HAVE OPEN OR SHORT IN THE BLACK YELLOW WIRE GOING TO AC COMPRESSOR CYCLING PRESSURE SWITCH. CHECK FOR A SHORT OR OPEN IN RED YELLOW WIRES AT THE AC PRESSURE CUTOFF SWITCH. USE VOLT METER AND CHECK FOR VOLTAGE AT BOTH SWITCHES. PROBLEM COULD BE IN THE EATC MODULE THAT SEND POWER TO PURPLE WIRE THAT FEEDS THE AC PRESSURE CUTOFF SWITCH AND AC CLUTCH CYCLING PRESSURE SWITCH THEN FEEDS THE AC COMPRESSOR CLUTCH SOLENOID.

Ac compressor not engaging it is a new compressor and clutch and we just had it charged

Double check that the charge was enough. There is a pressure switch on the refrigerant line that is inline with the wire that powers the clutch for your compressor. You can check it with an ohm meter. Disconnect the two wires and check. If the system is charged properly, there should be full continuity across the pressure switch. You can check the clutch at the same point. Take the wire that goes from the switch to the clutch and supply battery power to it. It should click positively.

I have a 1997 chevy s-10 pickup. The air conditioner stopped working recently. No power to compressor. Checked fuses, relays, switches, tried to fill with r134a and it was full. Still no power to engage...

You can check fisicaly the wires to the compressor and make sure you don't have any interuption on it. Can you hot wire the compressor from the battery ? But before you do it check the panel AC switch.

Air suspension not working

on the passenger side inside the wheel well there is a high current relay for the air compressor it is a silver metal relay assy 4 wire plug two smaller wire are the relay power two larger wires are compressor feed. if you jump the two larger wires and the compressor works check the smaller wires for power and ground if ok the relay is bad. usually these relays go bad due to compressor drawing high current and usually need to be replaced
