Hi Could you have connected the fuel pump wrong. There are 2 lines that run from the tank to the engine. 1 to the engine and a return line.
If you connected it backwards you may have burned out the pump again. I hope that is not the case. You also could have bought a bad pump. Good luck with this one.

Air in fuel line?

get a container with fuel(about 4 liters will do). put a hose from the Primer to the fuel container and another hose from the injection pump return line to the container. if it works fine then the air leak is between the tank and the primer.

Remove back seat to get to gas tank to see if feul pump is working

If you ran the car out of gas, there is a very good chance that the fuel pump is dead. Gas is coolant for for the pump like anifreeze is for the engine. The pump has now been overheated and will need to be replaced. You must drop the tank to do this and I hope you did not fill the tank. It is a very good idea to never run your fuel tank below 1/4 because you stress the pump if you do.
