Question about 2002 GMC Yukon Denali

1 Answer

My Denali shows Service ride control. I see by the other responses that its possible a shock issue or air line. I need to get on th ehighway but can delay it if this is something that could be dangerous or if it could cause further damage by driving at high speeds. Any help/suggestions would be great dont want to cause more damage when this trip can be delayed.

Ride control compressors burn up because of leaking air line or shocks. Replacing compressor won't last long if you have a leak. Most of these units are mounted under floor near rear axle.

I replaced my shocks with better quality... And now my Service Ride Control is also on. The mechanic said the truck is looking for the electronic switch on the previous shocks. There is a switch they can install to over ride the warning. Don't know if you had new shocks installed, but thought I would mention it.

2005 denali service ride control / air suspension pump

the leak almost 100% of the time is in the air bags of the shocks, there are special tools for isolating the individual shocks and seeing if they leak, but as far as the home repair goes u just replace them or have the dealer test them.

The fuse is called RTD 30 amp under the hoodfuse box. That is for the Air Compressor.

Parts.com has the best price for:

Rear Suspension:
Shock W/auto level control - 1500 series

and under
electrical:
then ride control components
then compressor
