Question about Buick Regal
Go through the basic wiring of the turn signal system. The fault is any where in the wiring causing this problems.Replacing the ignition switch is good start, but still getting the turn signal wiring checked is advisable.
I will explain how the turn signal wiring goes in your vehicle:---
How the turn-signal circuit is hooked up.The turn-signal circuit gets power when the ignition key is on. The power goes through a fuse panel into the thermal flasher. From there it goes to the stalk on the steering column.
Depending on the position of the turn-signal stalk, the power either stops in the switch or gets sent to the left or right turn-signal lights (including the indicator lights on the dashboard). Power flows through the filament of the lights and then is grounded.
Check the connections as per this.so you can replace the exact faulty part.

Hi! You may need not to replace the ignition switch. Pretty much a PCM (powertrain control module) failure. The PCM has connectivity on all electrical current that runs inside the car including the engine, transmission, etc... You will need to have the PCM resetted for it to work for when the PCM is faulty the electrical current fails. HOpe this helps and thank you for using FixYa!
