Hppefully the sending unit is just bad, verify that there is oil in engine and if its full and the engine is not making any abnormal noises then the oil sending unit is a possibility

My oil gauge says high but oil level is correct. I be had a oil and lube change 5 days ago, what is the problem with my 1999 navigator ?

The gauge is the oil pressure not the level of oil. Many things can make the oil pressure high, Bad gauge or sending unit, wiring or other factors If its not the gauge or wiring, then take it to a shop for diagnosis. God- Bless!

What are the output specifications for the oil pressure transmitter (it's a 2-wire sensor)in a 2001 Bentley Arnage? (I need the mA outputs corresponding to various oil pressures, at say, 10psi, 20psi,

the oil pressure hot on your test gauge will be below recommended pressure necessary for the proper lubrication of the engine . The control module as you say will be set higher to notify you before that pressure is reached so that there is sufficient time to shut down the engine

How do i tell if i have a bad oil pump or a bad oil sensor

If oil level in engine is at proper level, I wouild suspect oil pressure sending unit, does vehicle have an oil psi gauge on dash,,,if so what does it read. if oil psi reads well then it may be an oil level sensor. if you have access to a manual oil pressure gauge, you can remove the oil psi sensor and install manual gauge to get a true reading of what oil pressure is while running. if manual gauges shows low psi, then you may be looking at an oil pump.

Oil light came on and low oil pressure or no oil pressure. But oil level is fine. 2003 Chevy sierra

spend the 12 dollars and get a universal mechanical oil pressure gauge, remove the oil sending unit on truck and screw new gauge into and start truck. Does it read pressure? I know people will say just replace oil sending unit but i like to visually check for a true oil pressure than to trust a light, at least you will know what pressure your motor has. if you have pressure then replace the sending unit. Most of the time when the sending unit goes bad your oil pressure gauge in the truck will run at 80 psi all the time. Since you have a light the sending unit just says it isn't getting pressure which turns a light on. So be safe and do as i suggest, if there is no pressure at the mechanical gauge then i hate to say it but you may have a bad oil pump. I honestly just think you have a bad sending unit,if you want just replace it and if lights go off thats good, but you still don't know what the pressure is and if you feel comfortable with this then do so.

Use a test gauge and check oil pressure. You may have a defective pump.

My 2001 chevy suburban keeps loseing antifreeze. What could the problem be and how can I fix it. I never find any antifrezze under it.

have it pressre tested.most simple fix is the radiator cap.it has a seal that goes bad and with allow fluid to bleed off under presuur.worse case senario is loosing it via the intake or head gasket.it could be mixing with the oil so check the oil dipstick to see if level is past where it needs to be.also smell.
