There sould be two or three bolts on one side or the other of the hinge unbolt those and put your new ones on there factory aliened so there shouldnt be any adjustment needed if you got power locks or rear defrost you will have to pull the plastic door panel off there are a few screws then you pop it off then there is another clear or white plastic tarp like piece thats glued on thet you need to pull back enuf to fine where the plugs are and un hook them of if you get lazy and dont really care you can just cut them coming out the door your choice hope it helps

Replacing Exterior Door Handle on 1989 burb

if you can not get to the handle at all you will need to go from the inside. if that is the case try and pry the top of the door panel off without distorting the panel. then with a flash light look down inside the door and you should see a metal rod, try pulling the rod up or down which should open the door! hope this helps

1999 GMC suburban locks seize in locked postion

I just bought a 1999 Suburban and all of the door lock actuators were bad including the rear (barn style door) while I was replacing the rear door acuator I noticed that even with the factory mounting bracket on the actuator it was causing the door lock rod (the rod from the keyed cylinder lock to the actuator) was on a bind......the solution I came up with is adding an additional 3/4" spacer between the factory mount bracket and the door attach point. this solved any binding and the door lock works great now........also I used a lubricant on all the doors where the rods run through the plastic guides, which seemed to help quite a bit! Hope this help's.

Back door does not lock.

If it a the barn door style, check the pins in the door, then clean them. that worked on mine.

1995 Chevy suburban back door hinges too stiff

Lubricate the hinge or the hinge will have to be replaced.. I recommend wd40 first, then a finger tip amount of grease on top of hinge pin. the oil from the grease will keep the hinge constantly lubricated. It's not too late.

Rear gate (barn doors)

Climb into the back of your Yukon, using a apholstery tool (looks like a bent screwdriver with a claw on the end) or a putty knife and pry the bottom of the inner door skins off cut a 6 inch gash in the clear plastic to expose the door handle mechonizims. spray brake cleaner on the inner latch to clean, then using penitration oil to unsieze. Grab the long metal rod and work it up and down...the should open. repeat to the other door if it will not open as well. I had to replace my barn door inner latches on second barn door. (the door that opens last) with safari barn door latches. I got them from a wrecking yard cheap. ($15.00) to replace at GM....over $200.00. The wrecking yard told me the latches wouldn't work, but I look at the Safari latches and they were identical. My barn doors work perfectly. Hopefully this helps.
