Assuming the correct size fuse.....the fuel pump may seizing or dragging and shorting out. Don't attempt repair. It may cost up to a $100 for a new one. Depending whether it is inside the fuel tank or on side frame.....DIY may not be easy ! Be careful ! Paul

A fuse won't fix anything if has blown

Check all the fuses

I would think the fuel pump has worn out & failed,
or you have rust & corrosion on the wiring, possibly
on top of the fuel tank & hard to get to

Fuel pump fuse

short to ground likely on fuel pump circuit.. trace from tank up frame rail to PCM.. you probably pinced it though when you replaced pump so look carefully at wiring at between tank and body

1991 chevy cavalier- stopped running going down road. Replaced fuel pump and fuel pump relay-ran for two weeks and the when making a stop, cut off again and won't start and is blowing the fuel pump fuse...

Sounds like a short between the fuse panel and the fuel pump relay. This can be from the fuel pump relay itself through an exposed bit of wire, or even a defective relay which seems to happen more than most times. Check the wiring to the relay and wrap or tape anything where bare wire may be exposed. Disconnect relay and try a new fuse. IF the fuse doesn't blow, then the problem source is the relay itself that is defective.

Hope this helps!

Besides fuel pump or hole in wire, that will blow a fuse

could be something else also shares the fuel pump circuit.the relay for fuel pump could be mechanically broken and shorted to.

Keep blowing the ecmb fuse in my 1991 s-10

check your grounds & the fuel pump connections.the ground should run to the right rear of the motor. look at the wires back to the motor on the frame for anything that may have nicked a wire or a rub thru. You have a short and i belive it shut down if you hit a bump. loose or fraid wire some place. Best of luck & keep us posted on your fix.

Blowing fuel pump fuse

Did you change the pump? It may be drawing too much current and causing the fuse to blow... My recommendation is to replace that if you continue to have this problem OR unplug the fuel pump and see if it still blows... then it is a shorted wire!

Fuel pump fuse keeps blowing

You have a wire shorted to ground. Pull it back down and check all the wires.
