What's wrong with my clutch if my 1998 escort won't go into gear. There is small resistance in my clutch pedal

Jamie, are you losing any fluid from the clutch master cylinder? By small resistance I presume you mean the pedal feels soft?

If you're losing fluid from the master cylinder you have an obvious leak somewhere and air is getting into the system.

Most leaks occur from the clutch SLAVE cylinder as it does all the work .. If there's no leak from the clutch slave cylinder, suspect the seals inside. It's like a bicycle pump ..the seal inside wears and it won't pump..

You may be able to get an overhaul kit. I'm in the UK .. but here's an Ebay link for a slave cylinder overhaul kit just to show you what it looks like:
FORD CORTINA MK2 CLUTCH SLAVE CYLINDER REPAIR KIT SP2085
Here's a link to show you what the slave cylinder itself may look like (it may NOT be for your vehicle..)
CLUTCH SLAVE CYLINDER FORD FIESTA ESCORT
It's easier and quicker to fit a new slave cylinder than it is to strip down and replace seals with a kit. Be aware, after overhauling or replacing a slave cylinder you have to bleed it - remove the air.

The easiest way of doing this is to make sure the reservoir is fill of fluid, crawl underneath the car with a spanner/wrench, place a rag over the bleed point and get somebody to pump the pedal a couple of times while you undo then tighten the bleed nut.

If it's not the slave cylinder at fault- then it's the master cylinder. Master cylinders also have a 'piston' and rubber seals which wear/perish.
However, it's more than likely that it's the slave cylinder at fault

Check the level in the clutch master cylinder. If the fluid is brake fluid from the clutch cylinder, you will have to replace the clutch master cylinder. When bad, it is common for them to leak into the car and drip fluid on the carpet.
If you have the tools and so inclined, you can change it yourself. Not very hard,. 2 bolts hold it to the firewall, the pin or clip holding the clutch pedal rod to the cylinder (under the dash), then remove the steel line on the cylinder. (The steel line goes down to the transmission, to the little slave cylinder. After new master cylinder is installed, you need to bleed the slave cylinder to get air out of the lines.)

No brake fluid in resivoue no leak visable

As the brake pads/shoes wear. Fluid level will decrease in the master cylinder resovoir. If the master cylinder ran empty you will need to refill with appropriate brake fluid (should say DOT 3 on cap) and bleed air from the system.

Clutch pedal going to the floor too easily..

You likely have a leak in either the master for the clutch, the line going to the slave unit or the slave itself. You need to look at these items and replace any leaking components. If the master is full, likely it is internally bypassing and therefore needs replacement. Air in the system can only get in there from a leak. bleeding may make it work for a short time but is not a cure. After making any repairs you do need to bleed it though. (just like brakes)

2001 ford focus se spraying brake fluid when resivor was filled

It could be either. If the leak is roughly under the firewall on the driver's side then it's likely to be the master cylinder. If it's the master cylinder, it will probably cost you $75-80 for a replacement.

Brakes are mushy on my 2000 Ford Focus.

i would say your brakes are getting worn out because if the m.c. is low the only reason its low is because your brakes are worn down the fluid doesnt just disappear unless you have a leak just take look and see if anything is wet underneath.
