Try adjusting the clutch cable...you need 1/2 " to 1" of play on top of pedal...

Limp mode. It will be back, and won't go away until you get the underlying problem fixed. Go to a dealership to have them scan the computer in order to find the code that showed up.

Hi. I am insterested in a 1999 VW Cabrio. The car seems to operate great and is a good little car with 120,000 miles. My only concern is that when shifting the cars automatic transmission seems to stay in...

those car have very high maintenance and repair costs, think a long time before you devote any money to one. the transmission had lived its design life 20,000 miles ago and is on borrowed time. just may be the seller would rather unload it as opposed to fixing it.

Standard or auto? If it is a standard how does your clutch fell good possible that you clutch is going. If auto I would check for the right amount of tranny oil. let me know what type og tranny you have.
