Ac makes whining noise on a 2004 Pontiac grand prix

Is the whining noise coming from the engine compartment where the compressor is located or is the noise coming from inside the car? If the noise if coming from inside the car it could be your blower. When a blower wears down the bushing is the first thing to wear down and it begins to have play. That makes the blower/fan vibrate making a loud whining noise. Replacing the blower could solve that whining noise.
If the noise if coming from the AC compressor, it also could be a bad bearing within the compressor.

I have a 2005 saab 9-7x 4.2l i have the code p0495 and its saying somthing with the fan speed. i dont have any fan noises or anything like that. how would i go about fixing this

You have fuses and relays for the fan speed. It has a low and high speed each with thier own fuses and relays. I would start there. They are located under the hood in the fuse/ relay junction block.
Also the fans are controlled by the ecm computer and the engine coolant temperture sensor. Along with the air conditioning system. It is possible to have one of the fans short out and not make any noise. you can check the fans by spinning them, if one seems to drag it is going out. If you can move them in and out from the motor they are going bad. Let me know.

Theres a strange noise coming from my 99 millenia's motor but seems when i accelerate it the noise goes away but wen idle the cars just clack clack clack even when driving it makes the noise unless you are...

It sounds like you have a valve or rocker issue, I would run an engine cleaner through the engine. I suggest draining 1 quart of oil, pour in the cleaner and run engine for 5 min. Let engine cool and drain the oil. Pretty much another oil change. This will hopefully clean a sticking valve if this is the issue. But I also would check for anything hitting the pulley's or fans that may have came loose. I've seen this a lot. Good Luck. It may take 2 cleanings for the engine, so don't get disappointed.

with engine off check fan blades and shrould (plastic around fan) for cracks or if loose also check tailpipe bent at end if you backed into something. also check air filter box to make sure its tightly shut.

Knocking when engine gets hot and car stopped

The fan clutch can make a knocking noise when it tries to engage. At idle it will have a rhythm to it when it tries to engage. You will have an over heating condition and the air conditioning may not work properly.

The fix is to replace the fan clutch and reprogram the engine control module.

Car groans when turning corners

You need to describe the problem better. Does it groan only when moving and turning, or will it make the same noise just sitting there turning the steering wheel. If it only makes noise when moving, that rules out a ps problem, the ps doesnt know if you are moving or not. Does it make different noise if you are going to the right or left, same noise, different? I dont know about the reservoir, some of them have filters, but I dont know if Buick does or not. If it was, it would cause a whine, not a groan.

My car was serviced on Saturday. Today (monday) it made a lot of noise as I was driving home - I thought the engine would explode. My neighbor noticed that only one fan was working. Could this be the...

Well 1 fan for the engine and the other is for the airconditioner but most makes only work 1 fan for each but what type of noise is it as who ever serviced it should be out to your house to check it over as if you take it back to them then they will keep it and will try to say they found something wrong and get you to pay for there,.,.,..s.
But things like the oil and water check it your self before you ring them up to come out, and if the oil is down or the coolant is down dont tell them let them find it and see what they say..if they dont say anything then they are trying to cover up a bad service person.
Let me know how you get on Ron

Engine makes a squealing noise when running. No

is it comming from the serp belt?look when the car is off to see if the belt looks brown and shiny and or cracked,,it could be the belt is loose or just old and worn and slipping on the pulleys,,may be your noise,or if you mean squealing while driving it could be the brake pads are low and the low indicator squealers are hitting the rotors to let you know the pads are low and need replacement

The fan make extra noise when I speed the car. I dont know if is the clutch fan? This is not everytime only sometimes.

Usually, noise coming from the fan is really from the worn bearings of the water pump.
