Problem may be rather in the grounding brushes on the armature in the starter. or a loose connection of the wires hook up on the solenoid! or loose electro magnetic switch mounting screws. Or just weak magnetic action, and poor contact for the field energizing! Replace the starter ,be done with it!

You didn't say what make of car, but if it is Chev, Chrysler or similar that has the solenoid mounted on the starter you may have crossed the small wires on the solenoid switch.

sounds like starter motor/solenoid problem, try hitting the starter motor with a hammer , a couple of sharp hits may loosen off the bendix if this is the problem, if starts replace the starter motor

Camry will not start, could it be the fuse?

if all your dash lights work it wont be a fuse check battery leads are tight and the battery is charged,if these are fine then check wiring to starter motor if you have a clicking sound give the solanoid a bang with a hammer

Trouble starting and blinking dash

I had exactly the same problem this morning after returning from the store. I replaced the OEM battery with an Optima Red Top Model 25. Problem gone. Chrysler OEM batteries rarely last more than three years. You don't need to buy an Optima, but they do last a long time.

Good luck....

SINGLE MOM CAR WONT START!!!I DON"T HAVE TIME 4 THIS!!!!

so you turn the key and the starter does nothing... i would suggest that you attempt to start it while someone hits the starter with a hammer... not that gently but don't break the starter either.

If it suddenly turns over you need a new starter. and right away because using a hammer only works a few times.

Incidentally it was minus 20 here last nite lol
