My 2008 Cadillac STS's Service Power Steering System came on the steering is hard to make turns..what's your suggestion? Thank you

Check the power steering fluid and make sure it is at the correct level. Check for leaks underneath the vehicle. Does the vehicle make a groaning noise when the wheels are being turned? If so, there is air in the system. Likely causes are a fluid leak, bad pump, or bad rack and pinion.

1991 1.8 Fox Steering unusually stiff and squeek when wheel is turned. Alignment was adjusted today but the problem persists

Hello and welcome to FixYa!

The problem can be on the power steering pump itself. If the power steering pump is faulty, the power steering fluid does not circulate properly. One good reason why it squeaks when wheel is turned. Check the power steering belt too if they are not sloppy. If it is, adjust the pump to tighten the belt.

But before doing the power steering pump replacement, please do check the power steering fluid level. You may need to fill it up a little and turn the wheel from left to right. By turning the wheel to the max left and max right, the steering fluid will circulate and may get rid of the problem.

If the problem still persists after putting on new fluids, go for the power steering pump replacement. Be sure to tighten the power steering belt after replacement.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

It makes a groaning noise when I turn the steering wheel left or right

Hi! You may have a power steering issue. Please check the power steering fluid level if its sitting on the Max or Hi level. IF its not, then you may need to re fill it to get rid of the annoying noise. Plus, running on an almost empty power steering fluid may damage the steering pinion. Hope this helps and have a good one!

My 2003 Buick Regal makes a load whinning sound when I turn. WHat could be causing this?

Hi, it could be a wheel bearing. if you turn left and you hear it it will be your right front bearing and visa-versa. could be the power steering belt that needs replacing, good luck with it.

The steering wheel on my deville tightened up on me last night but power steering fluid is good, what is the problem?

You probably need to tighten the belt that runs the power stearing pump,or replace the belt if ther is no adjustment left.

loose belt or they didn't bleed all the air out of the system. check the level of the power steering fluid... now start the motor and turn the wheel all the way to the right till you go as far as you can... give it a few seconds like that... not shut off the motor... check the level of the fluid... top it up if you need to... now repeat that method again but to the left. that should bleed out the air
