Car not starting or getting gas

Someone needs to check the fuel pump relay and the fuel pressure.
Could be electrical, the fuel filter, or a weak pump among other things.

I need to replace the fuel pump on my 2001 Saturn L200 with a 2.2 L Engine. What is the best procedure?

Fuel Pump REMOVAL & INSTALLATION 1.9L Engine To prevent excessive fuel spillage, whenever the tank is removed from the vehicle it should be no more than 1?2 full. Removal of the fuel pump module assembly requires the removal of the fuel tank.
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.
  2. Properly relieve the fuel system pressure.
  3. Remove or disconnect the following:
    • Negative battery cable
    • Fuel feed and return lines from the filter/pressure regulator
    • Fuel pump vapor line from the fuel tank vent pipe
    • Fuel pump module retaining ring with service tool SA9156E. A 1?2 inch breaker bar will loosen the lockring
NOTE: To prevent bending of the sending unit float arm, lift the pump module up slightly to disengage the orientation tabs in the tank. Rotate the module 90 degrees clockwise until the fuel lines are facing the 1 o'clock position.
    • Fuel pump module from the fuel tank until the bottom of the pump module is close to the fuel tank opening
    • Tilt the pump module approximately 45 degrees to the right hand side of the tank and lift the pump from the fuel tank
    • Fuel pump to tank seal and discard it
    To install:
  4. Install or connect the following:
    • Fuel pump module into the fuel tank by orientating the float to face the right side and tilting the module approximately 45 degrees
    • Fuel pump into the tank and rotate the assembly 90 degrees counterclockwise to align the module tabs with the slots in the tank
NOTE: The fuel pump retaining ring cannot be properly installed if the flange locator tabs are not aligned with the slots in the fuel tank.
    • Retaining lockring with tool SA9156E
    • Vapor line to the fuel tank vent pipe
    • Fuel feed and return lines to the filter/pressure regulator
    • Fuel feed, return and EVAP canister purge line in the fuel tank retaining clip
    • Fuel tank
    • Negative battery cable
  5. Start the vehicle and check for leaks, repair if necessary.
2.2L and 3.0L Engines
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.
  2. Properly relieve the fuel system pressure.
  3. Remove or disconnect the following:
    • Negative battery cable
    • Fuel tank
    • Fuel lines from the fuel pump module cover
    • Fuel pump module retaining ring with a Sending Unit Wrench, J43827
    • Pull the retaining clip toward the float arm and lift up
    • Fuel pump straight up from the fuel tank
    • Fuel pump tank seal and discard the seal
    • Fuel feed line from the bottom of the fuel pump cover with Clamp Pliers J43914
    • Fuel pump electrical connector Fig. 1: Remove the fuel pump cover lockring-2.2L and 3.0L engines 9306zg57.gif

    • Fuel pump electrical connector
    • Fuel pump to the new seal
    • Fuel pump cover lockring with tool J-43827
    • Fuel lines and wiring harness
    • Fuel tank
    • Negative battery cable
  5. Start the vehicle and check for leaks, repair if necessary.

Car will turn over but acts like getting any fuel. Fuel filter just changed about 10 months ago. Has had tune up. Has full tank of gas.

I would have the fuel filter changed again, just in case sediment from the tank is blocking fuel through the filter, and check the fuel pump. They put them in the gas tank now and they do go bad. If you jack up the back end where the gas tank is, pehaps you will have enough gravity feed to present enough fuel to the injectors to start the car. That will tell you if the fuel pump is bad.

How do u get the fuel pump on

Removal & Installation To Remove:
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.
  2. Shift the vehicle into NEUTRAL and position it on a hoist.
  3. Release the fuel pressure.
  4. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  5. Remove the fuel tank filler cap.
  6. Drain as much fuel from the tank as possible.
  7. Using suitable hose pinching pliers, clamp the fuel tank filler hose. Clamp the fuel tank filler hose in the location shown ford-05-00-396.gif

  8. Disconnect the three quick connect couplings from the fuel tank tubes at the tank.
  9. Disconnect the fuel pump electrical connector.
  10. Disconnect the fuel filter inlet tube from the filter.
  11. Position a suitable lifting device under the fuel tank.
  12. Remove the two fuel tank support strap bolts.
  13. Lower the fuel tank to access the fuel pump module while swinging the fuel tank support straps away from the tank.
  14. Clean the area around the fuel pump mounting flange.
  15. Disconnect the fuel pump module electrical connector and the fuel pump module fuel outlet tube.
  16. Using the special tool, turn the fuel pump module retaining ring counterclockwise and remove it. CAUTION
The fuel pump module must be handled carefully to avoid damage to the float arm, filter and convolute hoses.
  17. Turn the fuel pump module counterclockwise and the fuel pump module will release from the locking tabs. Remove the fuel pump module from the fuel tank.
To Install:
  1. Install the fuel pump module in the fuel tank.
  2. Connect the fuel pump module electrical connector and the fuel pump module fuel outlet tube.
  3. Raise the tank into position and install the mounting strap bolts. Tighten the bolts to 26 ft-lbs (35 Nm).
  4. Connect the fuel lines and electrical connectors at the fuel tank.
  5. Lower the vehicle and refill the tank.
  6. Connect the negative battery cable.
  7. Turn the ignition key to the ON position to pressurize the fuel system.
  8. Visually inspect the fuel system for leaks.

It wont start it acts like its not getting enough gas

is it gettingf gas? use starting fluid from the local parts store (about $4) to spray into the air intake hose to the engine, if it starts for a quick second then you have no fuel and almost certainly need a fuel pump, the fuel pump is electric and is located inside the fuel tank, the tank must be removed to replace the fuel pump module aswsembly.

Fuel pump on a ford taurus 04 price and difficulty of change out???????

You can get a general price by checking Autozone.com for the pump. The difficulty depends on your skills, the fuel tank has to be removed, and there are a couple of special tools required to remove the high pressure fuel line on the tank. An experienced mechanic could have it done in 1.5 to 2 hours.
