I had them put it on the scanner and they said it was the battery, and the starter was good. I replaced the battery! Not the problem!! Checked the wires that's not it!! It has the most problems after it sat over night , but starts up most of the day after the first start up .

Hi!!

You have a drained battery, jump start engine and take it to an autoparts store like AutoZone to have the charging/starting system checked for FREE. The other choice is to remove the battery and take it to get charged. Note. if you remove the battery, make sure to use a memory saver, it is a device you plug into the cigarrete lighter socket and prevents the vehicle computer's memories from erasing, as well as the radio.

Good luck!!! Don't forget to rate this post!

Clicking noise wont start

Sounds like a weak solenoid on the starter. Probably needs starter replacement. Those cars need a mechanic to work on them.

Mercury Sable Problems

  • The car is silent when you turn the key in the ignition. Check the battery terminal cable connections. (See How to Check Your Car Battery.) If they look very corroded, force the point of a screwdriver (with an insulated or wooden handle) between the connector and the terminal post and twist it to lodge it firmly. Then try to start the engine. If it starts, you need to clean or replace your cables.
  • The car makes a clicking noise but won't start. This sound usually means a dead battery. If not, check the wiring to and from the starter for a loose connection.
  • The car cranks over but won't start. Check the fuel supply to your engine. If that's okay, check whether the electrical spark is getting to your spark plugs.
  • The engine starts but dies. If your car has a carburetor, check your carburetor adjustment and your choke to see whether the choke is first closing and then opening. If you have fuel injection, you'll need professional help.

I have a 2002 c 320 battery isn,t dead but car won,t start.I even changed the battery and still the same it also did the same thing last week but started after an hour or so

under what condition the car won't start?
is it when the car set over night, a few hours or after a few minutes.
does it make any noise or click when you try to start?
does the engine even turn over at all or just silent?
if nothing happen then may be the starter, switch or fuse.
if the engine turn but won't run then may be the ignition system or fuel system.

if the clicking is repeated with out you releasing the key then the battry is in need of charging or replacing, if its a one click each time then the starter motor is faulty.

Clicking noise when trying to start car, battery is ok, wont start

That Clicking is the Battery causing it not to Start. You need to Replace that Battery or at Least put a Charger on it for a Couple of hours to see if you can Salvage it for a While.
