Question about 1989 Mazda B-Series

1 Answer

I have a 1989 mazda B2600i and i am having problems getting it started. it starts for a few minutes and then dies. i believe it is a electrical issue and changed the distributor in it. but it still does the same thing. im wondering if it is the voltage regulator putting out too much juice that the distributor can't handle and its frying the module inside. i just wanted to know if it is the voltage regulator because if its not i don't want to be spending money out the *** to fix this bloody thing. :P

Engine occasionally stalls while driving down the highway in my Mazda b2600i p/u like I turned the key off

Larry,
problem can be electrical or fuel system,
first of all check the ignition key switch and its relative wire harness for loose connection.
it can be happen because of fuel injection failure ,then go to the mechanic and you can rectify the problem.

nuwan

Mazda B2600i

are there any fault codes present? i was looking at the fuel injection diagram on autozone.com and the only thing i can see that controls injector pulse width is the pcm. are all the injectors open for 15ms? you should also check fuel pressure. if you want to look at the diagram, go to autozone.com. register and enter you car. select repair guides, chassis electrical and the wiring diagrams

Not a solution but i am going through the exact same nightmare and same symptoms with my 1991 mazda b2200. I've apwnt over two grand to have my rebuilt TWICE and my alternator replaced and still does the same thing just starts only to die 2 seconds or so later unless i let it warm up to its max but will still die when taking turns and stopping at lights.

1991 Mazda MX-6 starts and it dies within 30 seconds or less.

Check to see fi your fuel pump is functioning, also change the fuel filter. I had this same problem on a 1984 626. While i waited for the car to restart fuel would seep into the line to allow for the enging to startbe that was it.
