My key wont turn in my 1992 mitsubishi

I believe the steering wheel lock is jammed, You may have to take it to the dealer. One thing you can try is by putting a spray lube in the lock and moving the wheel back and forth. Graphite oil is what you need. Hope that helps.

Key wont come out of ignition

Hi. Chances are, the lock for the steering wheel is sticking, or broken. Try putting the steering wheel close to straight, then spray some PB Blaster in through the keyhole. Make sure to cover the area underneath with plastic or cloth. Then, lightly tap the head of the key with a hammer. After a few taps, move the steering wheel left to right to try and engage the lock.
If this does not help, then I suggest taking it to a shop, as the air bag will have to be removed to remove the steering wheel to fix the problem. Hope this helps....

I put my key into the keyhole near the steering wheel so I could start the car, but for some reason my key won't turn, like it's stuck, what can I do to fix that?

Try moving your steering wheel to the left then jiggle the key until it releases, if no luck try the same thing moving the steering wheel to the right, or combination of both ways, If this works then there is nothing to worry about, it can happen almost to any vehicle, you are just in between the wheel locking mechanism and the ignition start or the removal of the key, a common problem in the design of the wheel lock, to prevent it from happening again, just have your steering wheel were you want it before starting or turning off you car. Car is parked and off but unable to turn key in ignition and steering wheel is locked.

Try moving the steering wheel left and right as you turn the key - sometimes the steering lock will stick if there is pressure from the wheel. If this doesn't do it, try spraying or pouring some dry graphite into the lock cylinder ( the hole for the key) slide the key in and out of the lock quickly a few times to spread the graphite, then move the steering wheel left and right as you turn the key.
Hope this does it for you!

My spare(walmart made) key wouldn't turn the ignition on so i tried original but still do i fix it and or how do i shift into neutral to tow home if the key doesnt come out of lock position

The ignition lock cylinder has probably failed. It includes a radio sensor which reads a chip in the body of the original key and won't start if it can't see the chip. The pins inside the lock wear over time until they no longer align correctly to release the lock. The wal-mart key may have also left additional debris in the lock that keeps it from turning. If you can take the key out, put powdered graphite into the keyhole and work it in by moving the key in and out several times. The graphite often helps to fill the small gaps created by the pins wearing so that the key can be turned. Also try jiggling the steering wheel, spraying wd40 into the lock, or lightly tapping the key into the lock with a small hammer to free it up. If you must get towed, the tow truck should be able to lift the vehicle by the front end for towing. The rear wheels will turn freely as long as the parking brake is not on.

Key won't turn steering wheel not locked.

common for this key switch to be defective. Might try graphite lubricant to spray in the hole. Once you replace key switch it will have to be recoded (electronically)by a lock smith, repair shop or dealer.

My ignition key wont go all they way in my father inlaw was messing the car and now it wont turn on

Get a new key made from the dealer, take you drivers lience insurance card and regestration and the will make it from the VIN.  Then spray WD40 into the keyhole, if it doesn't turn remove key and tap on the housing then try again.  Also try tapping on key while turning.  Make sure steering wheel isn't locked as well, may have to wiggle on wheel as well.

98 VW jetta: key wont turn in hole

Get some graphite or lock oil and put it into the ignition. This should help alot,Also if you try to turn the steering wheel while turning the key it will releave the pressure on the wheel lock and this helps as well (when the wheel is locked, you should only be able to move it a little bit in one direction)
