There is a special key that comes with the lugset. It goes over that nut and provides a regular hex head. Look for the key in the glovebox or trunk

How to get tire off 2012 Galant ?

Lift vehicle using an auto jack. Support vehicle with jack stands and be sure car e-brake is set. Place a large tire block behind a tire of the vehicle to stop it from rolling if not on a level surface. grab the lug nut wrench and place on the tire's lug nuts and turn them counter clock wise to remove them. Remove them all to remove the wheel.

None of the lugnuts on my 2002 Mitsubishi galant will loosen after using four different tire irons. It's the back right tire. Is there a special tool for these cars?

DO YOU HAVE LOCK NUTS? WHEN YU CHANGED YOUR TIRE DID YOU USE A TORCWRENCH? IF NOT YOUR OVER TIGHTENED AND NOW THEY DUG INTO THE RIM.
RIM ALLOY OR STEEL? IF STEEL GET A TORCH AND WARM IT UP,
IF ALLOY, NO TORCH UNLESS VERY MINOR HEAT..GET A LONG PIPE, FIT IN ON THE TIRE IRON FOR MORE LEVERAGE AND (REMEMBER LEFTY LOSEY RIGHTY TIGHTY).. AND STEP UP ON IT.. IT WILL COME OFF. ALL ELSE FAILS GET A BIG DRILL OR ROTATING SANDER/GRINDER AND SAY BYE BYE BY DRILLING THE NUT OFF AND SANDING DOWN ONE SIDE UNTIL YOU JUST TOUCH THE LUG THREAD.. AND GET A NEW LUG NUT, AND A TORQUE WRENCH FOR NEXT TIME, 9 FT/LBS SHOULD DO IT,
IF YOU USED YOUR HANDS LAST TIME, IT IS EASY TO PUT 120-180FT/LBS INTO IT, BUT YOUR RIM MAY CRACK IF TO HARD.. GOOD LUCK

I am trying to replace a wheel lug on my 01 Diamante can you help.

Buy new lug nuts for your vehicle. These can be purchased at an auto parts store or a tire and wheel store in complete sets, online at wheel retailers and through the dealer that sells your vehicle. Be sure to have your make and model of vehicle available so that you get the right lug bolts.

  • 2 Loosen the lug bolts on your vehicle with a lug wrench or a socket and ratchet. Raise the vehicle with a floor jack at the corner where you are going to replace the lug nuts. You can use the jack to support the vehicle while you replace the lug nuts or you can use a jack stand. If you use the floor jack, be careful as you remove and install the lug nuts.
  • 3 Finish removing the lug nuts on the wheel. Thread the new lug nuts onto the studs that the wheel is mounted on. Tighten the lug nuts as tightly as you can with the wheel still in the air. At some point the wheel will start turning.
  • 4 Lower the vehicle back to the ground. Tighten the lug nuts progressively in a crisscross pattern with a torque wrench to the specifications of the manufacturer. This will vary from make to make but is usually around 90 ft-lbs. Repeat the above steps for the other three wheels.

The vehicle specifics are located insde the driver side door jam. Look for a sticker. If not, look for the tire pressure ratings and pressure specifics on the tire(s).

1998 Buick Riviera Lug Nut torque specifications

I think only walmart torques the lug nuts for lawsuits, I have never torqued a lug nut in my life, and probably never will, But I think just about as tight as you get it with the lug wrench will do, do not use an impact driver, you will never get the thing off by hand. The torque setting is not hat much, maybe 25 lbs? I'm guessing. Hope this helps.

    Jeep wrangler change tires..

Changing tires on a 2007 Jeep Wrangler is no different than a typical vehicle. Any local service facility can help out.
If you are wanting to do it yourself:
    1. Break the torque on the lug nuts while the vehicle is still on the ground. 2. Jack up the axle using the jack in the trunk (under the panel in the trunk floor) 3. Remove the wheel and tire 4. Replace with the spare or a new tire 5. Tighten the lug nuts to 85-90 ft-lb of torque, make sure you tighten in a star pattern.

2 lug bolts on my 4 lug bolt tire broke off.

assuming the bolts that broke, broke while the vehicle was in motion,
    the wheel is bent
when the broken bolts were at the bottom, there was twice as much leverage between the wheel edge and the other bolt, and nothing to restrain the near edge, it would bend like cardboard
    replace the wheel
